How do I get started?

I want to try to play wolfenstein et.

First, im on vista home premium. Will this be ok?

ALso, do i need to “run” or “save” when i hit the download button?

I would recommend to use “Save” in case you need to install the game again at a later time.

might be, some have had problems but it should be good(tho i hate it for its lag)

there are many places you can download W:ET from it sounds like the location your using is down at the moment. a fellow splashdamge member (dee) recently put together a complete installer for ET, this sounds ideal for you

thanks for the help.

i downloaded the game but i cant figure out how to play online. theres nothing to join or do and theres also no sound …

there are no servers whatsoever.

what am i supposed to do :?

Did you get the 2.60a patch, and after installing that get the 2.60b patch and install that?

I doubt the original non-patched version of the game will have any servers anymore.

First you need to patch the game, see here:

Then make sure that Source is set to “Internet”. You will need to allow ET.exe access to internet if you have a software firewall (and possibly also “Work as a server”, depending on the firewall).

If it still doesn’t work then you can try an external server browser.

should already be patched, that was the point of that custom install

but the other advice stands, don’t uninstall Stringer, it’s probably vista issues and will be worth it when u get it sorted :wink:
