how do i access the et console

hi i recently downloaded a map ed for et and would like to test my map but how do i put commands in the console as the console only appears for about 2 seconds when i start et.plz help

p.s what do i type in to test my map??

` key ( tilde) brings down the console, its the key to the left of the 1 key, above tab.
The command to run the map are available on most totorial sites, i cant remember them off the top of my head

/g_gametype 2
/sv_pure
/devmap the_name_of_your map_here eg. /devmap test1

is this how i woul do it?
