i was actually looking for free games in general on a website that only offers free games to download, when i looked into the “Top Ten” categorie

and ET was there i saw the file size and read the descrition and knew it

was going to be good game oh yea i also downloaded another free game called code red :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana:

It was late one evening, in the fading days of the last century. I had retired for the evening, weary from a hard day stringing barbwire around the north pasture. Just as I was about to drift into exhausted slumber, a blinding white light appeared from heavens above. Paralyzed, I felt myself drawn from my bed roll and lifted through the very air into a strange disc-shaped craft



 when I could regained my vision, I found myself surrounded by inhuman creatures. They were vaguely human in form, but pale as one who has never been exposed to the sun. All seemed intent upon strange whirring machines, whose many lights flashed hypnotic yet indecipherable patterns. Their utterances and gestures were alien to me, incomprehensible, though their tone conveyed a strange urgency

“OMG!!! WTF!”
“STFU!”
“PWND!!!”

In time, I have adjusted to my new surroundings, and even gained a certain understanding of my other-worldly captors. Indeed, even if I could return to my former life, I would not, for their cursed addiction has become mine as well.

I used to only play the Vietcong MP demo, which is crap, but so was my PC. Then one day during a VC game a guy mentioned ET, that it was free, and that it was brand new. So I went to get it, but accidentally downloaded the RTCW MP demo, logged into a server and was told I had the wrong game, along with lots of “pointing and laughing” at me. Then I got the correct file, and was instantly addicted, and got all my friends hooked as well.

So, I got it when the standalone was brand new, I didn’t play the RTCW: ET test because I didn’t have RTCW (and didn’t even know about it). I’ve since bought that as well though, and built a new box to accomodate my addiction to games.

I also found out about America’s Army from a VC player, so I guess that game was good to me even though it sucks


BTW, I had played Wolfenstein 3D though. I played the original Quake demo on my dad’s Windows 95 box when it first came out, and that led me to DOOM and Wolf 3D.

Demo > RTCW > {not et}

No this is going to sound realy up my self and I realy dont mean to be.

The main problem I have with it is the players lacking in skills at the present time, this is no mean a put down at all.

Its just as alot of people have said they havent played ET.

For example the other night thought I would try ET again, I maybe play once a week maybe twice, yet I still play RTCW daily, I go onto on ET server and kills are so easy to come by, people dont move when you try to kill them they stand there dont duck weave strafe whatever you like to call it they just stand there trying to hit you when your moving about picking headshots at will.

Then my mate from the old RTCW days come along, he keeps on killing me every now and again and even before he kills me I knew who it was as of the movement and gun skills.

You can easily tell if someone is from the wolf days on servers simply from how the shoot and move.

And please dont say im playing a “noob” server I have joined clan servers what people have recommended but its still the same a high proportion cannot shoot :frowning:

Even though I dont play much ET please dont let it get like RTCW. The thing that is pulling RTCW is/was people’s unwillingness to accept custom maps. They so called 1337 clans called all the shots, no we dont want that on a “public” server because we dont play it in clan wars.

For example frostbite on RTCW is a hell of a lot better then some stock RTCW maps but was hardly played.

Please embrace custom maps, I do know some are no way up to scarch but there does seem to be a phobia about custom maps in general IMO and that is what was the demise of RTCW I feel.

i was waiting for it too!
but then i wasent keen on lookin on the news of castlewolfenstein.com but then a post in another forum told: wolfenstein: enemy territory.
i was like: wtf, it shoudn’t be out and posted: aru you nuts or somethin but it turned out to be out!
i was really happy!!!
