How can I ban someone from my server (for good)

Ok,I banned a guy from my server the other day doing !ban [name]
He still comes back though,he has not been unbanned because he is still on the !showbans list. Is there a way I can ban this guy so he can’t come back? I don’t understand he can still join the server even when he is banned. Please help,Thanks

no,it is the same person,because he came back with the same name,and said “why did you ban me?”

oh, ok well taht explains it lol, as for an answer… i have no idea, try googling it, when i searched for sum info on setting up an et server i fould a site with a ton of server commands, there are probably lots like it. i recommend that

all he had to do was change name, use pb ban

or get his guid then ban him by that.

There isn’t any effective way to ban in ET. Both GUIDs and (for many people) IPs are trivial to change. I don’t know what !ban does on your server, but most likey IP or GUID. Banning by name would be completely pointless.

You can find their IP and GUID in the server logs, and ban both of those using PB. The pb manual tells you how to do this. If that doesn’t work, your only options are to ban the whole IP block their IP comes from, or perhaps complain to their ISP (once you have banned them, they are using your server resources without permission)

get his IP addy, use whois, send e-mail to abuse @his isp saying he keeps violating your tos
