It is not always slow , it is very fast in deathmatch maps ( those where you must escape with flag , but it is free for all…) , just try it…

that is dangerous , i am not sure about it , so I rather left this option on cvars ( damage ratio , minimal damage , helmet protection )…

Ironsites are not for ET, however, when you are making a realism based complete conversion like Falckonmod and PoP are doing, things like ironsights are acceptable. Generally the maps get bigger and more spread out, and running across a large area under enemy fire isn’t always the best idea.

So far I’ve seen that almost all of the drastic changes these mods are making are going to have cvars, so that if a clan wants the actual guns, but ET damage tables, they can do it that way. And you have to realize that you don’t walk around with ironsights all the time. In Americas Army some players don’t even use them, and that gmae is one of (IMO) the best integration of ironsights in a game.

In these mods (like the one Jaguboss is working on) there is an option to have a regular crosshair. Especially with SMGs and some LMGs no ironsight would make more sense, but the option is there is you have to shoot more accurately a longer distance, which is a needed feature when you have a good possibility of more realistic damage tables.

if this is so you might as well giv up ironsites, peoaple would just hope that the smgs inacuracy would given them a headshot if they pointed the gun in the right direction, just think how many kills pros could get

This is very easy and extremly hard at same time - it is easy to code , but hard to tune , getting realistic values needs a lot of testing and playing…

if your going to try make something that realisitc ET is prob the worst place to do it, if you were a big fan or realism WW2 games youd be playing CoD

The people who would play the mod are ET players who like the rtcw arcade style, people who like realism are playing CoD, so why would the players seeking realism look for it in a ET mod?

then again prove me wrong, maby everyone is just waiting for ET to become the next realism ironsight shooter

The problem with CoD is that it’s a nightmare to mod. Hell, even getting a simple model into a map requires export then compile, rather than just export (yes, they removed the ability to use MD3 from CoD)
We changed to ET because everything was available to make the mod we wanted, and our fanbase could follow us with no extra expense…

yeah but the point i was trying to make would a CoD fanbase move to CoD? i would sertainly expect to lose a few ppl who wouldnt give ET the time of day

We did lose some CoDphiles, and some were quite nasty about it too (one of which was on our team - long story). But we gained more than we lost (that we know of) from the ET community.
