High cl_avidemo output

(DarkangelUK) #1

It doesnt matter what rate i set cl_avidemo to, it always capps at 1000fps. I’ve deleted all my etconfigs and using what i’ve always been using for years, any reason for this or does anyone know a fix?

(kamikazee) #2

Do you mean it is maximum 1000 or that it just jumps to 1000?
cl_avidemo is for making avi’s from demo’s, so 25-30 is enough for most avi’s.

See above. if i set cl_Avidemo 1, it caps as if at 1000, if i set it to 30, it still caps at 1000. I’ve narrowed it down to etpro as it caps ok in etmain. Im trying to delete the etpro folder but it wont let me, says it’s in use by another program

(kamikazee) #4

Hmm… If it still says ‘in use’ just after you restarted your pc, things seem wrong.
BTW: I thought demo’s didn’t work in ETPRO? Currently you need to run a dedicated local server instead of listen server, so this could have something to do with it.

Timescale and b_demo_autotimescale both set to 1?

(DarkangelUK) #6

yeah both set to one. I even tried setting timescale 10 and cl_avidemo 1 and it still caps the same. I tried maybe using another version of etpro… but if i do that then i cant play my demos as they’re recorded on an older version.

(Sauron|EFG) #7

The latest version of ETPro plays demos from ALL earlier etpro AND etmain versions afaik.

(DarkangelUK) #8

i found the problem, regardless of what i type, as soon as i run cl_avidemo the timescale dropped to 0.0 impressively. All i have to do is add timescale 1 on the bind to get it to work.

(eRRoLfLyNN) #9

Hi Darkangel, could you fill me in on the bind? I’ve tried a few things none of which are working, don’t know how to write a bind that does 2 things, the shame of it! :stuck_out_tongue:

(Sauron|EFG) #10

bind x “timescale 1;cl_avidemo 50”

(DarkangelUK) #11

Yus see above. And yes shame on you for not knowing how to do that :stuck_out_tongue:

(eRRoLfLyNN) #12

Thanks fellas

I’ll get me coat

(DarkangelUK) #13

Im not sure if it’s a problem with the demos going to timescale 0.0 after doing cl_avidemo or not, if so then swap the cvars around on saurons bind

(Sauron|EFG) #14

I was of only answering Errol’s question about doing 2 things in a single bind, but I guess I should have picked another example.

Shame on you Spoof, shame on you! :stuck_out_tongue:
