Hi from Nexon America!

^If there is any big concern to be had it is this. I am hoping SD will be coding a unique anti cheat for DB, but I was sure I remembered they were so…

(Protekt1) #22

Could you please provide a timeline or give us some kind’ve estimate or anything regarding when the game will be moving on from alpha stage? thx a bunch

(Protekt1) #23

We should perhaps define what pay 2 win means in a fps. For me, a game starts becoming pay to win when you can buy upgrades. Sidegrades are cool to me. The power to buy options aka sidegrades are okay. Anything that affects gameplay should not be behind a paywall. You should be able to work your way by effort and time. I’ve seen some games (solforge) only give daily rewards, that is dumb. There should be both.

Anything that offers measurably raw advantage over free content = P2W in my book.

(Protekt1) #25

What if that content can be earned for free but over a long period of time? Can there be too long of a “grind” period to earn something?

(mortis) #26

Well, I have to say that I was surprised by the news, but I will continue to offer what feedback I can for the game. I still feel like I’m working off my debt from the ten+ years of joy I had with W:ET. Just wish that real life didn’t cut into my playing time so much. In any case, may we all get the game we want, one way or the other!

Like some of the guys said above nexon has never had a support for a competitive scene for a game. I played combat arms for a few years always hoping that nexon would take the next step in providing for tournaments and never did. I hope nexon does not screw this game up and keeps it about the players and the competitive community instead of about the money.

(INF3RN0) #28

Well for the sake of balance in the overall game… that shouldn’t even exist at all.

I have an issue that needs addressing, and I know I speak on behalf of all current and future southerners that ever tap into this game:

AUSTRALIAN SERVERS:

[ul]
[li]Where will they be situated (city-wise)?
[/li][li]Are they your own physical server units and locations or are you guys outsourcing directly… and if so, through who (Internode, Telstra, Optus)?
[/li][li]Will our simpler compatriots over in NZ be getting their own server(s) or do we have to put up with their strange customs and accents in our aussie servers?
[/li][li]Will there be any kind of protection from strange asian gamers with horrific ping popping into our servers and inducing lag (ie the 700+ Mongolian dial-up pingers… for you northerners, one of these tends to be worse than having an entire incursion of Brazilians hit a server, has a major effect in almost every game down here)?
[/li][/ul]

no replies to anything, why am i not surprised

(Seanza) #31

It’s not even been 24 hours, give the guy a break lol.

(INF3RN0) #32

Time passes twice as fast in Australia duh!

(Seanza) #33

Haha

(Loffy) #34

Promising.

(neg) #35

considering he made the thread and he answered a few posts and was saying hello, you might kind of expect replies to the rest of the replies that were posted in here within a fairly short time span

it isnt unreasonable to reply to numerous posts that were… like i said made within quick succession to the thread being made

Yes he replied to some of the posts shortly after he left, probably closed the forum down and went about his daily tasks. Being the CEO of a company like Nexon won’t be a walk in the park, he’s probably had a day filled with meetings and took time out of his lunch break to interact with us. And, assuming he’s planning for PAX this weekend, he’ll be even more rushed off his feet.

(badman) #37

This.

SD, Nexon and Fireteam are collaborating on working out a good anti-cheat solution. Once we have more details, we’ll share them.

(Seanza) #38

Can we test that too?

(Crispy) #39

I have to say (without being able to go into any details for obvious reasons) everyone at SD and FT was blown away by the depth of the hack/cheat investigations Nexon have already performed on the Alpha build. They clearly have someone who knows what they’re doing dedicated to identifying security holes in their products’ code, so it’s clear they take hack & cheat prevention very seriously.

(Seanza) #40

You absolute tease.
