If SD believed they had a perfect game, we wouldn’t of seen a test, they would of gone straight to a release. Things will be fixed that ARE needed, but don’t count on things that you yourself aren’t happy with. Because changing it will just piss off just another bunch.

I got to say I really hated ET at first. Mainly because of the nasty jerky player movement due to Net Code or whatever. But it’s certainly growing on me - well about the time Jolt started a server with a 30 ping so the jerking movement was reduced as was proportionaly the headaches I was getting!

I love it and this freak who only seems to want to bitch, I’m guessing must have some personal vendetta about ET or a serious lack of mental capacity - probably both.

Perhaps the problem is that this game requires more skill, thought, team work and general awareness and ability to use ones brain. So it’s a step away from the hardcore roots of RTCW, which had more of an arcade feel to it. Now when people moan about this perhaps they should consider what we’d have if it did go back to being more like RTCW - well we’d basically have RTCW + a few custom maps. What’s the freakin point in that!!?

If you don’t like it, go make your own RTCW mod with a few extra weapons and new maps, and watch as no one plays it!

ok…

only 3 things 2 fix as far as I can see…

  1. Client player animation interpolation / prediction
  2. mp40 & thompson fire sounds.
  3. more emotional voice characteristics.

all of which don’t really effect gameplay, excpt maybe the player
animations.

I think ET is technically a BIG leap in the right direction, but the above
points do spoil an otherwise great game.
I apprciate that the player models & animations use a new technology,
and I’m sure that they will be ironed out :slight_smile:
sounds can be fixed very easily :slight_smile:

All in all … friggin excellent work SD I bow to your elite skills :wink:

Clearly this guy doesn’t have a clue : Offcourse, people are allowed to not like the game, and are defenitely allowed to state what they do or don’t like.
But putting it like this f*ckwith does, does not make sense : Don’t forget that some people like nothing more then degrading other people(other people’s work) because irl, they just can’t do it : It’s this fake sense of power you recognize assholes with.

Rather spend your time on talking about how the game could be improved, and leave that guy alone with his shit-sandwich.

I agree with this completely, although you forgot about the knife sound :). The fireforeffect sound needs a bit of improving but not a high priority compared to the MP40/thompson sound. At first I thought ET was laggy, but its the interpolation of the models, quite clearly seen when a player dies it looks as though they have typed /kill ;). I really like the new rate of fire and all the added features. I dont think ET lags, if anything the netcode could be better than RTCW, the weird model animations give the illusion of lag.

The only other issue could be FPS, although I can still play it quite well even when my fps dips below 25. I suppose with such a new game I should be upgrading my 3 year old pc :bump:

Splash Damage were brave, ET is different to Wolf but if they fix the above issues then ET will have a huge following. Im personally bored of the standard maps in wolf, most people are stuck with playing the regular maps which becomes tiresome, shame really when there are so many good custom maps out there.

I hope the other maps are as good as fueldump, dont change the ability to complete the objective if the tank doesn’t make it to the fueldump because its another strategy which keeps the axis on their toes. They may well enjoy camping the allies spawn but at the cost of losing the match :banana:

i agree with the sensible people above, also the axis goat sound or something similar for knifekills needs to come back imo.
also i love the nudge towards thought and tactics, because wolfy is already perfect, and this way i got two great games to choose from at any time.

geez you guys are actually going to make me type, well ok here is why I THINK this game doesn’t deserve the wolfenstein name:

  • when sd started making this it was supposed to be an expansion but obviously they thought they could make a better game than rtcw. if you were to look at the 2 games side by side. they are only similar in art and that is it. they made everyother thing in there a completely different game. the nade physics is a perfect example.

  • rtcw was very damn close to being a chess match. smg’s countered smg’s, panzers and snipers countered each other. it was a game to see who could shoot better and teams could work better. et has still got the team side to it. don’t get me wrong, the different aspects that sd added to it would be good, were i not expecting to see a expansion, or successor, if you will, to rtcw

don’t get me wrong, its a decent game and sd obviously did put a fair ammount of time into it but, i just think they went their own way with it too much.
