Hello i think i may be doing something wrong …
Im tring to launch a LAN game in E.T. i go to Host Game , the only thing i changed in the original settings is ,
Dedicated Server - Yes LAN , then i hit “Start Server” the game start to load and stops , the last line written is :
hitch warning : 989 msec frame time …
it just sits there until i close it and i go back to the desktop…Ive played on the internet so the game works…please help.
That’s what it’s supposed to do. It’s the console window and it will do that whenever you dedicate the server to lan or internet. If you need to dedicate it to lan so you can have a friend join, then you will need to start another session of et, but your hardware better be up to task. If you want to run around on the server by yourself, don’t dedicate it to anything.
There are tons of Wolf/Q3 server guides out there, check em out.
Dedicated means that it is only running a server, not the game itself on that PC. If you want to be able to play on that same PC, dont make the server dedicated. Remember that you nee aprox. 50 Mhz CPU power per client that connects to that server.
