Hi, just recently ET has not been letting me past the map loading screen. The progress indicator will fill up completely and then it will just stop. If I wait a good 10 minutes it will take me back to the main screen and then inform me that the connection to the server has timed out. Note that the game is “stuck” at the loading screen and not frozen- when the progress bar hits 100% I can bring down the console or escape back to the main menu.
I have done a full virus scan and uninstall/reinstalled and neither helped. The only thing that has changed recently is that my PC is now on a shared apartment LAN connection (not sure what speed, but it is very fast) instead of a cable modem. But still, all other programs and games (like UT2k3 and BF1942) run fine and without lag on the new connection.
I have tried posting at the PlanetWolfenstein forums in these threads (here and here) and have come across a couple people with the same problem, saying that it works fine if they reinstall everytime they play. Obviously thats not such a great solution, can anyone help me out?
