Help needed: Disconnecting for unknown reason

I scrolled through the forums but didnt see any thread with the same content so here goes…

I keep getting ‘server disconnected for unknown reason’ when the map switches in a campaign( not Every time tho), i got etpro 3.0.1 from the jolt vvv server so thats cached, shouldnt be a prob right? I tried reinstalling, that doesnt work either

In UT2004 they have this new antitcc, an anti cheat prog, This kicks me from time to time because i load the maps too slow, any chance its the same thing happening here? (load time is so slow since i have 265 SDRAM :angry: ) I’ll get more ram end of the month but would like to solve this earlyer

I have seen people with similar problems on this forum, and also having a little amount of memory, wich caused the kick on mapchanges. Try getting as much as free memory as possible, by disabling your firewall and virusscan for instance.

Free memory before playing games. Loads of Appz for this about. Check www.download.com or www.sourceforge.net.

For ET/RTCW/Q3 etc you can use com_hunkmegs to set how much mem is there for ET and how much it uses sorta… up this to 2/3rds your mem providing youve cleared as much as you can before loading… maybe a similar thing for UT2K4 but I dont even play it anymore. (yes, 2 weeks and it got boring… duels sucked too :x)

Get some DDR 400 PC 3200 or above ram… even 512 should be sufficient for gaming till end of year at least.

If you have a slow comp that’s taking too long to load the maps, then yes you get kicked. Check the console for any mentions of timeouts. Drefrag, if that doesn’t help buy some good fast RAM.

ive gotthe same prob m8, just make sure your task bar is empty cept for essentials etc, u will be fine.
