Help! Game messes up with a new Graphic Card!

Hey i just got a new graphic card its a Geforce fx 5200 AGP, I just swapted it with my old 32mb card. But now when i go to play ET I dont see much improvment in my FPS and when i turn my Volume up or down (the vloume shows up on my screen) my screen gets distorted and flickers and my FPS drope from 60 to 1 fps and stays like that for 5 sec+. Then my FPs are unstable going from 60 to 12 then to 28 then to 100. WTF is going on? I cant even play my Favs servers becasue of this card!

Can anyone help me?

get the 44.03 drivers, i don’t have a link, but you may be able to find them at www.omegacorner.com or somewhere else, DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE DRIVERS FROM WWW.NVIDIA.COM THEY WILL CRASH ET AND YOU WILL HAVE TO REINSTALL THE PREVIOUS DRIVERS!!!

K, yea I have a problem too =\

OK, but did you have the same problem? And there is a newer Version out its 56.01 or something like that!

Yes the newest drivers works like a charm with ET specially for with PunkBuster. But I am having weid side effects wth newest nvidia drivers
In some maps some walls flicker just tone darker and whiter specially in oasis and some customs. Nice wallhack nvidia! makes my game harder to play.

Do you by any chance have an HP computer? If you do, then you probably have OSD, something that lets you change your volume from your keyboard via 2 up / down buttons. Using these may be causing the screen to flicker.
I used to have this problem. You either set the sound level using the dials on the speakers (if you have any) or set the sound in ET.

Ya i have a HP, is there any way to set it up so that it dont show the volume?

Pluse i have a windows ME OPS… and the driver your telling me to dl dosent exist for ME OPS! SO what Driver should i download?

Get Windows XP. ME sucks, bad.

That will fix a lot of your problems. As for the sound, don’t use the buttons on the keyboard. I have that too, no I don’t have a HP Gah!, when I use those sound buttons, gamma is lost, screen flicker blah blah blah… Do as Jim says, use the speakers’s dials or use ET’s sound config to lower/crank the volume.
