One of our clan members has a very specific problem. We updated our <BT>Black Talon server to etpro 3.2.4. That worked fine, but for some odd reason, one specific person in our clan cannot play long and then he is just kicked out of teh game, he gets booted to windows and it says “Do you want to report this error”, in the game he actually shows up as 999 ping for a while, then 2 minuites later PB kicks him? We have 16 clan members and dozens of people visit out site, and he’s the only one it happens to? HE can play on older servers with no problem though? What the heck? Anyone have an idea? I had him reinstall teh whole game, and all new maps, pk3’s etc… still does it???

Has he tryied to add etpro 3.2.4 in his etpro folder manualy? Has this member updated punkbuster reacently? Which message does punkbuster display when he is kicked?

All that means is that his client has crashed, which is also what the microsoft error report dialog means.
While it is possible this is a bug in etpro, it is much more likely to be something wrong with his computer or configuration.

PB kicks him, but thats just because he is dormant in game for a long while. PB is not the real problem. He gets kicked randomly anywhere from 3 minutes to 30 munites into the game, he just gets booted, and ET gives no reason, he’s just gone, we still see him as 999 for a while, but he’s out. Microsoft gives him the error message, sometimes it says “et.exe has caused a problem and has closed…”. And so far, its only on 3.2.4? Shrub servers do nothing and other versions of etpro. He has formatted for the 3rd time now? Coudl it be a port problem changed with etpro? He’s swapped out ram, sound cards, and video cards now aslo… very frustrated. Hmm… I appreciate those of you trying to help! Any help is GREATLY appreciated, he’s a good friend and we all want him to be able to play!

have him try with a default cfg, could be something in his old config is at odds with etpro

What spec is his PC? Does he play other games, and do they crash like this? It could be some form of CPU overheat? Maybe it’s just a conincidence that it started happening after you updated your server is what I mean.

He is playing on Shrub servers without getting kicked. And, no, no other games give him any problem except etpro. I’m trying to make sure its not just 3.2.4 but maybe other etpro, but he says onyl etpro latest does it. The screen freezes for a short moment then he’s kicked, no reason why, no nothing said, he’s just gobe on his side of it. The game keeps him at 000 for 2minutes then PB kicks him for being idle I belive. Then of course it says et.exe caused an error. this program has to close. I’m going to have him try to go with a generic .cfg as suggested. Damn… I wish he could play and this was solved.

Hi all. The Wolf Et 3.2.4 problems is with my machine. p4 2.6, 1gb ram. Asus p4p800 mb. ATI Radeon 9550 (agp). Error when kicked is = ET.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
I reformatted and reinstalled os xp prof. Have a new video card with latest sw. ATI. Turned off onboard sound and put in SB PCI card and got latest drivers. Disconnected router and pluged in directly to cable modem. deleted Norton AV. Have at times disabled firewall sw. Nothing helps. this only happens on severs with new patch 3.2.4 all other servers i can play on for hours with no issues.
Note: xfire closes right away when i join a 3.2.4 server. stays running on other severs with no problem. I have also upgraded the to the latest PB version using pbsetup. I am running out of things to try. Any help would be appreciated.

TBH I think Bani’s forums would help you out more…he did make it after all…
Goto http://etpro.anime.net/ they should be able to help you out if its an etpro problem. I don’t see how it can be though, I think he should do a virus scan and/or reinstall on a different directory, but I’m lost…and I don’t know much…so check out bani’s forums!
