Headshots ?

Hi.

Manual says you get more exp for kill via headshot (with light weapons). Therefore I try to aim at head. But it doesn’t seem to make big difference. Sometimes helmet falls, sometimes not. One shot is deffinitely not enough to knock it off. Hitting unprotected soldier in head is not instakill.

How does it work, exactly ? Does anyone know ? Which weapons except light can score headshots ? How vulnerable are you after losing helmet ?

What about leg and bodyshots, is there any difference ?

For instant kill shoot the penis

In my experience with SMGs and pistols, a the first headshot does 40 damage, and the subsequent ones do 50. Body shots do 18.

Body shots seem to do the same damage regardless of location, but the damage falls off with distance (the number above are for point blank)

Damage for other weapons can be found here:
http://www.rtcwonline.com/dummies/enemyterritory.htm
although you will notice that the headshot damage does not agree with what I have seen.

It should only take one shot in the head to know the helmet off, but the point you have to hit doesn’t line up exactly with the models head. See my previous posts on hitboxes for some examples.

Yeah, headshots can be tricky when the head hitbox is nowhere near the head graphic :frowning: Plus of course the weapons are inaccurate so just 'cos you have the crosshair right over someone’s head doesn’t mean you hit them there. When you get higher level light weapons it gets a lot easier to kill people quickly.

Oh another one: Sometimes i make a headshot with my garand or k43 it doesnt make an instant kill :???: it supposed to be an instant kill doesnt it?

If I remember right, they should make a one shot kill, but hitboxes are messed up badly in prone position etc… Read this thread:

Headshots do 50 damage with SMGs, and 100 damaged from scoped weapons. (A 100 damage is still not instant kill)

A Helmet will reduce 20 from headshots (except scoped weapons). You will loose the helmet after the first headshot is taken.

About, Light Weapons XP, if the last shot is a headshot, making it a headshot kill, you will get 5xp instead of 2 or 3. This doesn’t apply to weapons while scoped.

Have actually tried this, or are you just repeating what is on iffys page ? Because all the times I’ve tried it with an SMG or pistol, it only reduced 10.

100 damage is an instant kill, if you have no medics on your team, and have not gotten whichever reward gives you increased health.

I contributed to what is written on Iffy’s page.
BTW, it used to be 10 in the test but now it is 20. Helmet protection does not apply to scoped headshots.
