having "version issues" while playing the game

I have recently redownloaded the full installment of W:ET along with all the great tools and patches for the game, but whenever I play a game, I have a message scanning across my screen that says:

“WARNING:Urine_Sample:Punkbuster is detecting old version C1.40 etc etc.”

Sometimes the game will let me play the map, only to disconnect me after the map is done and before the start of the next one. And sometimes itll just kick me after like about 30 seconds for “unknown reason” , but I know its cause some servers detect an old version from my machine.

How do I have the latest version when I just got all the updates? And how do i get around this dilema?

If I understand this correctly …

You have the latest punkbuster version but the server doesn’t, probably because it’s blocked by a firewall. So punkbuster detects different versions and tries to downgrade your version to the server version. But this is not allowed by default. You have to type /pb_security 0 in console and all should be alright.

try downloading the player files at http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=dl-et.php
and can try /pb_security 0 in the console (not as extreme as it sounds, it just makes your pb client less fussy about what version the server is running or something)

Not quite.

The client PB can only downgrade if you have the relevant version already. A fresh install will be unlikely to have the correct version and old versions cannot be downloaded from EvenBalance.

pb_security 0 should only be used if you trust the server.

Your only other options are to contact the server admin and get them to update or not play on that server until it does.
