Hater-Aide?

Some of you spent too much time at the Haters-Ball this year. This game is tight, yah there are some flaws, but it really is an improvement on the first one.

My question for Locki and the others is:

What happened? For real… was there a conflict in development? was the project not receiving funding? Did some old white guy in a corporate office somewhere have a brain fart and say “scrap-it!”. I have read the interviews and the articles and the “Please make this mod when you get a second…” stuff, but as alot of us play this game religiously, i, wE, would like to know difinitively what happened. I am not really asking for finger pointing or placing blame , but just an idea as to what went down. Like when did you know it wasn’t going in the right direction, 2 months into dev.? 8months? Did the project suffer because resources or others that could help were doing console developement or something else.

And being that you catz started out as modders (?right) you must have some faith that someone in the community could and would be willing to pick up the pieces and work on it. where is the single player code at? did it end up in someones waste basket?

ET is the tits. It will probably be the reason my wife eventually leaves me, i just don’t want to see it end up a partially completed Frankenstein of a game. You guys have done excellent work, and as someone who (after schooling) will hopefully be doing game development I would like to know what drove the project in this direction.

Did Homeland security deem this project not safe for the embetterment of our nation? Did the game contain WMD? k. thats enuff. I hope you guys will post something, but i know you are busy.

Thanx-

I took the interviews I read at face value. It was the SP that got canned, w/ the implication that its devolpment wasnt going according to plan. Seems the AI was a tougher nugget to crack viz having a ‘squad’ w/ you during the SP game. The fact ( I assume) ID/Carmack stepped in to make sure the MP version, which was doing fab, would still be completed and released, FOR FREE !!! testifies to how great SD did and how benevolent a privately owned company can be.

I never played RTCW SP, never occurred to me : )
