I’m sorry, but free DLC is just not enough to make up for games that are basically broken out-of-the-box. I’m fed up with paying 60 bucks for a beta version of games, and I was wondering if anyone knew if SD had made an actual apology for promising the moon and delivering the mess that they have.
Has SD made an official public apology for this game yet?
I can only imagine the sort of complaints you will hear from posting this here
Not every game gets it right, deal with it, you act like they broke into you’re house and pinched $60 from your wallet, no one forced you to buy Brink, the previews were fairly accurate, the reviews were mostly on the ball and the millions of pre and post release topics here on these board should have given you an idea of what Brink was going to be like.
If anything you owe yourself an apology for buying all these ‘beta’ games on a whim and wasting your own money…
Yeah, even Wolfnemesis has stopped posting his tripe!
True. The game may not have been what we expected but it was far from the sort of tripe that gets churned out to turn a quick buck. SD tried something different and I hope they know it didn’t really work. No apology needed.
And yes I find it hilarious that the mighty BHC fell silent the minute the grind and distractions ran out and they were left with only the game they defended so enegetically. Yet the W:ET & ETQW forums are still very much active.
I hope SD, at its core, doesn’t feels this appeasement and short term glitter is now its core market and Locki takes swift action to make that clear in future game design.
Hmmm, theres probably a few things than can be mentioned, but its not going to change anything.
Which ironically played out the same way when posters on this forum pointed out the blaring issues with the game well before release. It didnt change anything. We are even bigger retards for buying the game KNOWING that the design decisions the devs discussed on this forum, wouldnt play out very well.
No apology needed.
Im pretty sure Brink has made enough money to warrant a Brink 2. Just 2 bad the playerbase is so low now. I really love the game.
Apologize? Yes there were many issues with Brink; initially and still. But there is no reason for SD to apologize for a in most parts great game. Fixing, yes. Apologize, nope. Aside from that a little advice; learn to really play this game and you may get a huge load of fun and exitement out of it. I was very frustrated due to the initial hardware probs and the following gameplay issues(and I’m still from time to time), but by now I’m a Brink addict; I fear in the most literal way.

Uh, yeah… following something for almost an entire year before release isn’t really a whim…
You bought it therefore you approved of the quality. You may disagree, but your wallet does not.
The point made prior still stands, even more so as you’ve just said you followed the game for almost a year.
My main reason for buying Brink was that I found it on offer for £23 and that despite some obvious flawed design choices it could have been somewhat fun. It wasn’t much of a risk at the price, it turned out pretty much as I expected and kept me playing for a month or so. Having played the game it had potential hence me sticking around here giving feedback and criticism to hopefully make sure their next title turns out better.
Like has been said a few times. Brink sold well on Console and in general, especially for a new IP. I am sure I’ll get flamed, but the game was really fun, again in my experience, on console. What’s to apologize for? For making a heck of a fun game?
The game was more than worth the 80 dollars I spent on my PS3 copy, and the 25 dollars I spent on my PC copy.

That money could also have been used to feed a poor family driven away from their home in the prolonged humanitarian (and religious) crysis in Darfur in a couple of months. I guess Einstein was correct!
And the money spent for a random club-night by an average kid from a western country could also pay the bills of an entire family from Dafur for one month:o Have you donated recently?
