hardcore mode ?

hi everyone

will be in this game some sort of hardcore mode ? because looked at this video and it takes to much bullets to kill someone(no hud, no crosshair, less health).

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/container-city-brink/59707#comments_top

and is there a standard TDM mode ?

TY :stroggbanana:

No Hardcore
No TDM, KOTH, CTF, DM

The videos are too old to be held as reference to how gameplay balance will turn out to be.

No, there’s not a TDM mode.

(murka) #4

Hardcore a.k.a. camper-mode?
No thanks!

(tokamak) #5

I would love to see that though. A very intense version of Raven Shield.

Actually I just want to see a proper new Rainbow Six one day.

I concur, its absolute trash.
Promod on the other hand

Wouldn’t it be more “hardcore” if it took more bullets to kill someone? I mean, if it took 2-3 shots to kill someone, then essentially the skill involved in surviving/winning a firefight is gone and is replaced with “whoever shoots first, wins,” and even a couple lucky shots could spell victory for you, which takes no skill at all, and is hardly “hardcore.” Camping would also becomes a much more viable tactic and sniping (typically the strongest ballistic weapon in FPS) would run rampant.

When players require more bullets to take down, 1) simply getting off the first shot doesn’t determine the winner and 2) firefights rely more on the skills of person vs person, rather than “who shot first.” - in other words, it takes far greater skill to “duke it out” with an opponent and come out the victor, than it does simply putting 2-3 shots in him.

Also, no hud isn’t “hardcore.” it’s a personal preference. having no info displayed on the screen, doesn’t make you anymore badass than someone who does. No crosshair is just stupid, and if you want less health, play as a Light.

(tokamak) #8

You simply replace one skill with the other.

(Nail) #9

For the last time, camping is not a skill

(BMXer) #10

I don’t recall any of SD’s past titles having anything resembling “hardcore mode”…

(tokamak) #11

It sure is.

(Nail) #12

nope, it’s what no-talent players do to increase their K/D ratio, a tactic maybe, but a skill, no

In Raven Shield, the players with the highest kill count were not the guys who rushed ahead neither where they the ones who stayed behind. They were the players that new when it was appropriate to be agressive or to be cautious and patient.

That type of skill set is what becomes most important the more fragile the players in the field are.

But still, it isn’t a skill, it is a tactic, like flanking or rushing. A skill is something you learn - something that can be mastered, like aiming or timing nades. I don’t see how you can master camping.

The pace of both games seems to be totally different tho.

So a hardcore mode the same as in black ops? For me I would say no, I just dont understand it - weapons and gameplay are balanced for the normal mode.

A TDM mode, perhaps that would make more sense - but again, the maps are built around objectives and so might not play very well as a standard deathmatch

(melon23) #18

I don’t think HC = camping. If someone wants to camp he will, doesn’t matter on the game mode. I just wanted a little bit of realism, yeah yeah I know it’s a game

And a another mode as HC is not so hard to implement, just invisible hud + less health.

I hope they will implement something like that and I don’t understand your rage, because it’s a game mode, you don’t have to play it.

A lot of people play it, already mentioned in black ops. I don’t camp I rush and I prefer HC. It’s more fun for me, because I don’t like to change my mag every time I kill 1 person. My aim is good so I hope if there is no such mode, that with 3 or 5 bullets you can kill someone.

That are my thoughts, don’t take it personally.

PS: sorry for my english, not my native language

(tokamak) #19

That’s just semantics then. You can’t master moving and shooting either. You can master effective moving and effective shooting, and you can master effective camping.

And in Raven Shield, camping as you think it is mostly means you’re a sitting duck waiting to eat a nade.

(coolstory) #20

Yea Im not seeing the difference between mastering moving and shooting and effective moving and effective shooting. Naturally if you master movement or shooting, you would think it’d be “effective”

And camping a skill? What a joke.
