I have just spent some great time playing brink.
Overall the game really impressed me.
My first toughts what Brink needs are hitsounds and custom crosschairs (yes, dot ;D).
Hope more guys admit that and we will get it in patch or promod.
Guys seriusly give brink some type of hitsounds.
Doesn’t the game roll some xp numbers your way next to the crosshairs each time you hit a target? Not saying that hitsounds isn’t a good idea, just wondering how well this system works. Haven’t played Brink yet, since I’m euro.
Not sure if hitsounds are really needed, but they sure can’t hurt.
Pretty shocked about custom crosshairs not being in though. I hope you guys are already planning to give us the option. I really thought this would be a given after W:ET and Quake Wars.
I’ve been hearing sounds when my bullets hit…
Admittedly, it’s not the blaring sound that Q3A makes, more of a “thud” but I’ve been hearing it.
I seem to remember ETQW had them (if I’m not going crazy?), but do many other new FPS’s really offer these now? - I just keep thinking of the pewwp noise from Quake 3 which was so jarring after a while
Wolf:ET definitely had them. That’s the dink dink dink I was referring to. Idk about ETQW.
Wolf, at least what little Wolf I’ve played, had mods that used Q3A’s hitsounds. Which kinda killed immersion for me.
COD has them…they are subtle and sweet to the ears. I was thinking this game needed them too. I don’t remember if ET/RTCW had them.
Needs the ‘tink tink tink’ headshot hitsounds, at least as an option. Or I will NEVER PLAY THIS GAME AGAIN.
That’s probably not entirely true. Get the hitsounds, please.
Meh, i wouldnt mind it but, let the devs first fix existing problems before adding things like this or custom crosshairs.
g_hitBeep - play hit beep sound when you inflict damage
0 = do nothing
1 = beep/flash cross-hair
2 = beep
3 = flash cross-hair
HP bar decreases when you shoot them.
You gain EXP by landing hits - showing on your screen.
I can’t really understand why one would NEED this. It’s always cool to have as an option but… is this really that much of a concern?
