GtkRadiant 1.5 released

(EB) #61

sorry jump3r^, I had shorthanded that last question.

What I meant was: do you have any custom files added to Radiant ? …I assume this is a no, so there is no need to answer this.

I will try to recreate the errors on my machine and find another way to fix it…expect me back within a day or 2.

(ShadowAgent) #62

jumper: you must update java to the latest version, and these error messages should disappear

(jump3r^) #63

heh, i’ve just tried this one but it has the same errors.

(Shaderman) #64

Radiant doesn’t use Java

I noticed some weird behaviour when i first used 1.5 today!

I opened a map of my own, selected 4 entities (two trigger_fagonly_multiple’s, a team_CTF_redflag and team_CTF_blueflag) and copied them (Ctrl + C)

Then opened another map, and pasted them in (Ctrl + V)

I noticed that a “1” was added to the value of “targetname” in these 4 entities! :S
For example, targetname in old map was “flag”, after copy/pasting to new map it was “flag1”, and my map stopped working obviously…

The ‘old’ map (from which i copy pasted) was made in 1.4 btw, the new one in 1.5…

this si supposed to be like a adding function, if you have one scripted thing and you want to make another, i found it useful a little but again, shoul have an off switch.

(Flippy) #67

Oh I see… well if it´s an “adding” function it should work like an adding function :stuck_out_tongue: Eg only add the “1” when it’s needed (when there’s already the same targetname maybe?) and maybe give a notification when it’s changed, so you know that it happened and don’t spend hours looking for such a small error…

(EB) #68

well Jump3r^, I am sorry to say that I cannot recreate the issue. Perhaps you can try the steps again, but reboot after the uninstall and dir deletion.

I know this seems redundant, but at this point, anything is worth the try.

(murka) #69

update every driver you can…

 This behavior is funny indeed…
…(only entities selected)? no big deal… “save selected”,open the file (clickclick),Ctrl-A,Ctrl-C,open the map file,Ctrl-End,Ctrl-V,Ctrl-S

(Flippy) #71

I don’t get that :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, seomthing else… Might be a stupid question but what happened to “Move into worldspawn” in the rightclick menu??
I cannot find any way to move an entity back into worldspawn… i have to recreate the brushes everytiem i want to do this now…

(.Chris.) #72

Do the same thing as you would move brush into other entities as discussed before but parent it to worldspawn. Ungroup Entity also works but clears everything associated with the entity.

bah, does not work for me :<

after clicking the OK it completely crashes… RC1 does work.

i use winxp czech lang with sp2.

jump3r^: It took me about a month to register & post this, but here’s the real fix…

I installed today the newest (26.04.2007) 1.5.0 and I have to say it makes me even more love 1.5.0. There is only one thing I’d like to get rid of since it makes 2d window more complex. It’s this thing where it says the entity names in the 2d. Like func_constructible etc. How to get rid of it?

(kamikazee) #75

I believe you can press Q to hide it, although I’m not sure.

(-SSF-Sage) #76

Nope, Q is mousedrag. But thanks.

(kamikazee) #77

Hmmm… Ok, seems I was wrong.
I installed a copy of GTKRadiant and View -> Show -> Show Names seems more promising.

(-SSF-Sage) #78

Thx mate!! I can always trust your aknowledge! I was fool that I even didn’t notice the show category. Was just sailing at the preferences.
