GRRRRR ET
Dunno, but I was on a non-PB server the other day because it had the most players and I felt like a bloodbath, and everybody was crying cheater every time someone killed them, so I piped up “go play on a PB server” and the response was “PB crashes my game”, to which I replied that’s impossible, if you read the literature you will see that PB can’t crash your game, that’s a known issue with new Nvidia drivers, wherein the driver crashes the game when PB calls it, blah blah. Anyway, people still think they have to abandon PB out of ignorance.
tbh I still get problems with et crashing, but not as a result of the nvidia drivers.
I have 2 machines, one with an ti4200 (45.23) and one with a 9800pro (3.9), and I have the same issue with both. It is entirely random; sometimes after 20mins play, sometimes after 6 hours.
I am running 2000pro on both machines.
Sometimes I crash to windows, sometimes an everlasting sound loop/machine locked.
Any ideas??? (and have I hijacked this thread, or is it a similar issue?)
I don’t think EinzlenGanger was asking for help, so you can consider this your thread now bubba.
Does the two computers have anything in common, like the same model motherboard?
Do you have animals? (I.e. cat hair in the fan/heatsinks making your computers overheat.
)
Cheers Sauron,
Both on gigabyte motherboards, a GA-7VAX and a GA-7NNXP (same drivers, via 4.51). No pets, and the newer machine is in a Lian-Li box which has a front filter. The old machine gets hot, but the new one runs pretty cold (hottest the chip gets is around 50 degrees).
Both have audiy cards, and I have considered that this could be the problem (the sould loop thingy) - but I haven’t come across anyone else having similiar problems with audigy’s. And they are different models of audigy’s.
ET crashes with everybody once in a while afaik, it’s when you have daily crashes or every time then you got an issue
No i have ATI RADEON 9000 PRO 128 MB And i update it every time theres a new one so thanks for the help i was just saying :fiesta:
Tanks :fiesta:
I suppose that is what I am getting at Sick Boy - is this just me or does everyone suffer from random crashes with ET?
my et runs great, im stuck on the old nvidia drivers for obvious reasons but that said its fine, np, sweet, solid as a rock
Mine almost always runs fine with the old drivers too, this night first time a crash dureing a war thoug

cw’s never run smooth, if it aint cvars ffs its sumit else!
lol
I don’t have any crashes on my current system (9600Pro/3.9, NF2 mobo chipset), but I used to get the looping sound lock-up once or twice a week on my old one (GF2Pro/41.09,VIA mobo chipset) until I had to reinstall the OS. Only thing I know that was different was the SoundBlaster driver.
When ET crashes or laggs out PB is the my first suspect (e.g. broken PB update during the game). I then usually try to update PB manually using the pbweb-tool and see if it helps.
