wonderingf if theres a public list of supported/non-supported 3dgraphiccards for ET?
My guess is that alsmot every card supports ET, but does someone know a 3dcards that will definately NOT work with ET?

yours.
lol J/k
Ive played ET on an old Nvidia PCI card and it worked fine. I think its just wahatever can support the OpenGL and DirectX.
only thing I could find was in the manual:
The following video cards were fully tested with Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory:
GeForce 4 Ti 4600
GeForce 4 MX
GeForce 3
GeForce 2 Ultra
GeForce 2 MX
GeForce256
Radeon 8500/64
Radeon 7200/64
Radeon 9700 Pro/128
Xabre 400
I know that ET runs even on the pre-geforce nvidia cards. So I suspect that in most cases, peformance becomes unacceptable before ET fails.
Me too, with a 500mhz P2 CPU & 256mb ram. Very choppy and ugly, but it worked :]
It’s probably MUCH easier to say what cards DO work with ET.
I used to play it on a 533mhz machine with a TNT2. It was uh…“Laggy”. It ran though.
My all time favorite ET OpenGL torture is this http://www.collectivecomputing.com/~reed/et/etss/et-x11-cygwin-ssh.jpg
5-10 seconds per frame is beyond “laggy” :moo:
I’ve played ET on integrated Intel gfx, which also worked (if 1 FPS on Radar can be considered “working”
).
more importantly:
oh and i believe i played ET on integrated i8xx graphics, but i forget which chipset it was or if my playing ET on it was actually as amazing as i’m remembering it…
Yeah, I also played ET on a laptop + Intel gfx… Had decent FPS, but I was using a P4 3.0Ghz :] :]
Still… I wouldn’t recommend using Intel integrated gfx
nVdia TNT 16 MB worked @ 8 FPS low 640x480, PII 350 MHx with 256 MB 100 MHz SDRAM and windows xp pro SP2. Then my Geforce 2 MX400 64MB got 25-30 fps out of the rig.
I have also played ET briefly on a sempron 1.8 laptop with S3 integrated graphics, and a Mac Mini (integrated radeon 9200, if I’m not mistaken). Both dropped into the <20 FPS range at times, but were pretty much playable on the lowest settings.
Well I played ET on a Natwest cashpoint - the res was terribly low and the FPS was shit, not to mention having to use 6 keys at the edge of the screen and no mouse !!
The upshot was that everytime you won a round a tenner would pop out …
