Whenever I join a server as soon as i get the initial spectator screen everything turns completely grey and I cant get the game to do anything. No limbo screen, no console, nothing. Yet if I install the game on my laptop and use it as a server or create a local game, no problem.
Any thougts?

It’s not a stock W:ET problem.
As far as I know the problem is a NoQuarter problem.
Not sure how to solve it.
But you could/should try to join servers that run other mods.
Yes and no. You may be on to something but as far as I know none of the servers I have tried to join are running NoQuarter. I’ve run into it on jaymod & ETPro servers. It now appears it may be a PB issue as if I start a server locally without PB enabled on the server everything runs fine. If I pass pb_sv_enable in the console I get a few lines about the PB server starting before the screen again turns completely grey.
