took me awhile but i’ve finally read the whole thread. first of all, my point of view is kinda similar to Ryans (even though i might not have used the same words), i’d prefer the usual weaponbank-feature. but, on the other hand i’m satisfied with the DarkangelUK-fix (which was confirmed by Rahdo that it did work).
however, i would still like to support the issue Voxie brought to attention (which had not yet been replied to by splash);
First of all, this thread is rapidly spiraling out of control; just because your views differs from someone else’s does not mean that you have to call people names. A locked thread will in no way help make our opinions heard. /end_rant
Secondly, seven pages in it seems like few of you paid any attention to RR2DO2’s post.
My preposition is simple, instead of adding a weapon bank for nades – which will require man-hours better spent on other things (as stated before by Rahdo, if i remember correctly) – why not make this alternative priming system part of Brink? In the gameplay options, let us choose if we want the grenade button to be held or toggled. To me this seems like a feasible way to cater to “weapon bankers” without having to rewrite loads of code.
Not only will this allow players to instantly prime their nades, it will also not be a hindrance to your movement at all; tapping the nade button once to prime, then again to throw it clearly obstructs your aim and movement less that scrolling to the nade slot with your mouse wheel/pressing the corresponding key, then holding your left mouse button.
So, who’s with me?
also, i’d like to express my gratitude towards the splash damage people who continue to show their support to the pc community. the apology by Rahdo is something you just wouldn’t normally get. and that’s one of many reasons why Brink will be the game to watch for 2010.
