Grenade bind

(carnage) #1

ok bind working with binds that i have kinda neglected over the years but i though ide test there power

so i wanted to make a halo style grenade sytem were they are controled by there own key to make it faster for fast firefights where i wouldnt normaly have time to mess about with sutch things

/bind g weaponbank 4;+attack

thats the colsest i have got but i have tried lots of things like waits and everythign and -attack but no luck

what i would realy like is the grenade to be thrown when the g key is released but ide settle for it to jsut throw one for now!

edit/ and oh yeah ide like it to finish on weaponbank 1;weaponbank 2;weaponbank3 cos i think that would chise the best weapon i have with ammo left in it

(carnage) #2

k ill answer my own question

/bind g "weaponbank 4;+attack;bind g “-attack;weaponbank 3"”

that works fine and can throw the grenade any time a want but it only works one time, i understand why as the bind basicly rebinds itself to change to weapon 3

i though of then binding more onto the end but to get an infinite look ide have to keep andding it foever and i cant be bothered to do that

so is there any way i could like save the hole process and on the end bind it to reset the proces with the comand that recals the proces on the end so every time it ends it basical re writes itself

/bind g “weaponbank 4;+attack;-attack;weaponbank 3”

might need a wait or 3 in there between -attack and the weapon switch back to 3 or between the switch to nade an +attack

(EB) #4

Fiddle with this;

set nade1 “weaponbank 4”
set nade2 “wait 80; +attack; -attack; weaplastused”
bind g “+vstr nade1 nade2”

I just made it…I hope it works right.
-Cheers
[p.s. you may need to fiddle with the timing…]

(Ifurita) #5

set prime “weaponbank 4; wait 10; +attack”
set release “-attack; weaponbank 3”
bind MOUSE4 "+vstr prime release

(EB) #6

@Ifurita: same diff. :stuck_out_tongue: (almost)

(carnage) #7

no you al miss my magic in my bind

becasue it does the +attack comand then re binds the key its is constantly priming the grenade untill i hit the same key again so basicly it waits for key press

could i have somehting like that combined with your other stuff

(Ifurita) #8

actually, they are quite different. On keypress, mine switches to grenade and starts cooking it off. On keyrelease, the primed grenade is released. On keypress, you select the grenade then simply tosses it on keyrelease. Yours explodes 5 seconds later, I can time mine. Worlds of difference.

(carnage) #9

realy, mine does that to but i dont have to hold anything for it to prime

no i have no idea why how that can do that, does vstr somehow wait for key press and realese or something?

(Ifurita) #10

huh?

(carnage) #11

set prime “weaponbank 4; wait 10; +attack”
set release “-attack; weaponbank 3”
bind MOUSE4 "+vstr prime release

i asume that +vstr is a comand that runs set somethings (whateer theya re called) and the 1st one is when the key is pressed and the second is when the key is realesed?

(EB) #12

Pretty much.

@Ifurita: that’s why I said “(almost)”

(carnage) #13

k, thankx guys

good forture in you lives

(squadjot) #14

nade1 “weaponbank 4; wait 10; +attack; set nadetoggle vstr nade2”
nade2 “-attack; set nadetoggle vstr nade1”
set nadetoggle “vstr nade1”
bind g “vstr nadetoggle”

i made this on the fly… i think this is what ure asking for

(carnage) #15

prob should have mentioned that its for rtcw no ET

i tried all of thoes and non worked but i made one that toggles bettween to set variables so mouse3 starts priming and on mouse1 it fires

how can i save this as ii dont fancy typing it in every time i go on a server

(Ifurita) #16

the +vstr bind should still work if you play on an OSP server

(DarkangelUK) #17

Don’t think RTCW has the +vstr command. And yea it wouldve been handy to know at the start

Of course that’s unless it’s in OSP :disgust:
