Greece map W.I.P. screenshots Updated

I decided to post some images of a map i’m working on, i’m still puzzling with the objectives and adding some detail, so i need some obj suggestions. It’s about a map in the ruins of greece, and axis need to attack a villa, axis forces discovered that allies use the villa as a secret passage.









Pics are a bit unsharp, that’s because of my hoster :frowning:

The ruins are looking good, but the terrain needs some work. The repeat size is too small, making the mountains look funny. Also, the hills on the left of the first pic need remaking - they are so clearly made using easygen’s hill modifier. You need to mix it up a little, it’s way too repetitive to be real hills.

Maybe add some dry grass style textures in places too, Greece isn’t a desert you know :slight_smile:

I would reiterate damocles point. At the moment, it looks like you’re making an egypt map. When I think of Greece, I think of grey/white rock cliffs with dark green vegetation.

Other than that, your screenshots look promising!

Well thx, but i was really stupid. I should use some grass. Just a question, do you think i need some dry grass and a bit of sand, or only grass?

thx, but first pic is really crap. I alraedy took the second one as a ensemble for my temple (Wich is just a block with stairs, and then colums on it for the roof, because of fps probs). The third one is very usefull, i see the greeks created SAND ROADS in the grass, so guess what i’m gonna do… (spooky :stuck_out_tongue: )

On the contrary, I think that the layout is fine for it reflects the random nature of that architecture in that area of the world.

But, scale up your terrain textures as mentioned before. Otherwise, looking sharp.

Jut for fun, may be you can add this temple :
The is one of the most known temple in delph

It looks better without dune :slight_smile:

Those mountains look like cardboard cutouts. :disgust:

Seriously, being only one layer thick creates a rather odd effect, especially when you go up high like that. I suggest clipping near the height of the tops of the mountains, and perhaps you could put in a skyportal.

Make it more “grassy” like in Radar but then located in Greece, like on this pic.
