Graphics Issues I'm Having...Admins and Mods please read this

(Ch3W) #61

I’ve just been chatting to some folks who work in Gamestation (massive national retailer in UK). It appears loads of people are bringing this game back because of this exact issue. The guys there were saying that people who play the game assume it just has bad graphics, instead of considering that it could be a fault and a patch may be released.

GUYS PLEASE fix this and save what should be a great game PLEASE

I have to admit that the graphics for the game are by far that most disappointing feature to what otherwise is a rather enjoyable package. I debated getting it on the xbox over the PC for a change of pace and am now being made to rue that decision.

It would be nice if xbox fans were given steam keys for the product until the game is patched for the xbox . Then we can at least enjoy the impressive artwork there until the console version is corrected. I know that helped drive Portal 2 sales and would greatly help ease the pain of what is shaping up to be a possible miss purchase based soley on the poor graphical element.

Love many other aspects of the game though.

I am heading into the city centre after work and will be popping into HMV and Game to check and see if they have this game displayed for demoing on the 360 or even PS3 to see if they have the same issues there.

+1 that.

A temporary Steam key for people on the forums would help ease the pain for now.

+2 that

This would be good for the people who can afford a decent PC. Still needs fixing though.

Linking in a post on the forums with some pictures in (though these look better than mine) they highlight the issue and I know that we are looking for pics et al.

The most irritating feature is looking at enemy opponents and team mates. Surely we can do better than this.

I see others posting links to my Bethesda post with pictures, I hope they help in looking into the issue. You can see very clearly the issues that we are having in them. Here are the direct links to the pics:

Not sure whether its been posted before.

Developers admit all game footage has been rendered on the PC version…

(Munchies) #70

It’s a very depressing outcome tbh especially with the PC version looking so much better even on mediocre settings. I would take the 360 version back but that is not an option since I purchased it just before leaving the country, still it’s a damning conclusion to a game with so much promise.

(Ch3W) #71

It’s a shame that they spent so long on a great customisation system, when the graphics are so blocky that they can’t pick up the details. Sorry if that’s a little counter productive, but it’s how I feel

(Amg Zone) #72

I’ve not given up hope of a patch to fix this yet, but the lack of acknowledgement of the problem is annoying.

It’s a great game drowning in potential but if they don’t fix the problem, it’s going to flop, and probably be one of the biggest flops ever.

(Ch3W) #73

That’s exactly how I feel too Munchies! It’s like I REALLY want it to work. There is huge potential here. I feel that if it’s not fixed quick, that another company will be looking to build a working version of the concept and will profit from the work started by Brink

(Realgent) #74

I agree, it’s been nearly 2 days since Crispy posted here, not impressed!

(Realgent) #75

Does anyone know whether we may get a better/quicker response by posting on Bethesda’s Brink forums?

I’ve had a quick look myself and can’t really see much in the way of progress there either :frowning:

(Munchies) #76

I think that it is going to need more gamers to come forward and be vocal about it. With just a few responses it’s likely that we will just get written of as a small percentage of gamers despite there being many reports scattered across several forums. Without enough complaints nothing will get done about it especailly if PS3 and PC sales are up and our purchases have already counted towards overall sales. Many companies are just short sited that way.

(Realgent) #77

Well if its not sorted soon I certanly wont be purchasing another Splash Damage or Bethesda game (not that they probably care what 1 person does or doesnt do)

(aphexbin) #78

Good day chaps, joined the site just to post in this thread.
Have to say i’m having the exact same issues…loving the game but it looks like dung.
characters are just a mass of pixels at mid range. and the game looks dark and muddy.
despite gamma being chocked up the whole way.
I’m running my 360 on a 1680x1050 via VGA and most games look superb.
i can attempt to take some pictures and post if you all think it would help.

(Munchies) #79

That would be great mate thanks. That way we can give the dev team an idea of why we are unhappy and if they can’t improve it this time perhaps they can do better in the future. I will try and upload some pics too when I get back from work.

Hi guys signed up just to post on the issue. Been following the thread for over a week and have the excate same problem. To point it out; the character creation character has no where near the amount of detail that the in game charecter has. The mini gun I’m using ATM glows a dark blurry red and textures are on the quality of most playstation 1 fps games. It’s terrible. So bad intact that since this issue really hasn’t been addressed or even acknowledged by anyone that I’m starting to think that splash are ignoring the issue and even expected it to happen. I’ve seen brink running on a nvidia pc and a Ps3, it looks nothing like my xb360. I’m aware my xb has a ati card but it’s not even two years old ( it’s a red limited edition xbox running on a hdmi cable at 720p)

Due to this I’ll be trading in my copy on Friday and will be boycotting any further releases by splash damage.
