Graphics Issues I'm Having...Admins and Mods please read this

(WozzaX) #41

I have the same issue with the textures and dodgy resolution and would also like to add another point.

When looking in the display options the gamma settingl, I need to put this up to full and even then I can barely see the 3rd Brink icon.

Surely this cant be right.

I checked my tv settings which are fine for all other games.

(Realgent) #42

Hi Sibear, could you let us know which model of Xbox you have?

I am also experiencing the same issue as WozzaX. I need to increase the Gamma to maximum before I see the third white ICON too. I have never needed to do this on any other 360 game I’ve played (been an owner of a 360 since its launch).

(blueostrichdos) #43

Yeah, I would also like to know what model xbox. My buddy who has no issues with his, is using an Xbox Elite, purchased when it was released. I’m using the newest Xbox Slim, with the big hdd not the basic model, got it the day is came out.

Also, same issue for me with the Gamma, usually I have to notch it up 1-3 and I only do that because I prefer it that way. I can usually leave it at default or at most, notch it up 1 to clearly see whatever icon a game displays. For Brink, I had to put it to the second to last highest. Never ever ever had to do that just to actually see the icon.

I really hope this can be fixed.

Feels like a beta at the moment, or I’m playing the game on the Wii.

(blueostrichdos) #45

It sucks because the game really is fun. I love being able to approach the battles from so many different aspects etc. While I find the customization to be a little lacking, I guess I expected more from what they talked up, it’s still really cool. My only irk is the low level cap, I expect some dlc to raise that to 30, similar to Borderlands (maybe it’ll go higher idk). I feel that really limits how much you can work with your character. But it’s fun, I’ve yet to even play with any of my xbl friends and I enjoy it, just can’t stare at the image for too long.

Look, it’s obvious that your job is to sit here and stall us while your team conjures up some remedy for the situation. However can you spare those of us that actually have a brain? We know the problem is the outdated ATI xenon in the 360 and the fact that your team made a poor decision by going with an id engine (which is known not to work well with ATI chipsets).

I should warn you. Further negligence will result in a consumer-based class action law suit.

(WozzaX) #47

I hope they sort it this week.

If not then I can see a lot of people trading this in for L.A Noire.

(Realgent) #48

I would really appreciate an answer to this one Splash Damage

Bumping this thread

(Realgent) #50

Ok I have uploaded a video showing the poor texture ‘popping’. Apologies for the washed out look of the video, this is not a reflection of the game its just the best I could do with my smartphone but it does give a good example of how long some of the textures take to appear.

I will try and produce a better video tomorrow hopefully showing a better example of the lack of AA present.

(Realgent) #51

…as a separate issue I would just like to add that my character is the light class but has weapon that should be only available to a medium or heavy build character, but that is a fault that can be raised on another day.

(RobbedCustomer) #52

Have the same issues. Can’t be bothered taking pictures or video to show you as you should already know that it’s broken. Let us know that it’ll be fixed.

(JGBarnes) #53

I so badly wish I had the resources to get some screen grabs of the low res aliasing. It is my biggest gripe. I believe the texture pop isn’t nearly as big of a deal as the aliasing. At least after a second or two the higher res texture IS THERE…eventually The bad aliasing, however, never goes away.

Is there someone out there who can produce some examples? Really, though, I’m not sure why producing examples of bad aliasing is necessary since all anyone over at SD has to do is put the game in an Xbox and see it for themselves. Perhaps one of the mods/admins/whoever can shed a little light on why exactly they need us to produce these examples when we’re not beta testers.

The problem we have JGBarnes is that there are “allegedly” people out there who are having no issues what so ever.
These people are either very lucky, have a special setup that the game works with or they have no idea what they are doing/seeing.
I am yet to see, other than videos produced by SD, a texture rich and high res video of Brink for the 360 and PS3.

I tried a few games last night and its so off putting. Compared to the PC version which I have also played (graphics are brilliant), the 360 version looks like i am playing it while wearing glasses that weren’t made for me.

Hi all,

I’ve just come across this thread whilst looking for a solution to the exact same fault. Even registered just to keep it bumped! I’ve tried it a first gen Xbox Elite, and one of the new Xbox 250gb consoles. I managed to convince 7 others of us to buy the game, and each of them all have the same issue… all on xbox 360. Obviously now they’re all blaming me for a pretty bad graphical experience :frowning:

The game concept itself is great, and I want it to work so badly - which is why I’ve not traded it in. I’m waiting for something to be announced about a fix to this so I can restore my hope in the game.

Splash Damage: Please please please acknowledge that something is being done. I worked very hard on fighting the ‘negative’ people out there after the ‘not so good’ reviews came out… but unfortunately I’m slowly starting to regret investing so much time in the game… which is a massive shame because I love the concept!!

(Amg Zone) #56

Same boat as you Ch3w

I convinced alot of people to buy the game on 360, only for this to happen.

All of us have different 360’s and we all get the same problem.

I’ve invested alot of time in the game and don’t want to trade it in as i love the gameplay, but if the visuals arent fixed, i’ll have to!

Please fix it Splash Damage!

(WozzaX) #57

I also have multiple systems and have tried the game on an Xbox Slim 250Gb as well as Xbox Pro 60Gb.

I have installed the game to the HDD and can see little to no benefit.

I have used HDMI, and VGA. Will try the official Component cables tonight.

I have also tried every single resolution including 480p (i know thats not HD but I tried it anyway) all the way up to 1080p. No change.

The one thing that has made a slight difference is changing the Reference Levels in the display settings of the 360 dashboard. This has only affected the gamma setting which I normally have all the way to the right. I was able to see the third icon when the gamma setting was only half way up, if I set reference levels to standard and not expanded.

Everytime I load the game up I hope for a patch. Something to fix the issues. Fingers crossed SD can do the business and resolve these issues.

If they fixed this and added a lobby/party system (I mean, even basic games have lobbies these days), the game would be near perfect. SUCH a shame. :frowning:

(Realgent) #59

Still no word from Crispy or any of the other SD team? Please don’t tell me I wasted my time going to the trouble of recording and uploading that video?

I appreciate there could be financial implications by publicly acknowledging there is a issue with the graphics but I think the people who have bought your game deserve to know whether you’re prepared to fix them.

Yes SD, would be nice to know you’re doing something about the issue within this week, not just acknowledging that issue exists. :penguin:
