Grandeur is so easy to use now, and its a 1 shot kill to a field medic. I haven[t seen a pdp user in ages, a lot less bolt action players in competitive as well. If you are gonna make it this easy to control, dont let it one shot a merc.
Grandeur is too easy..
what, really? how big was damage to grandeur?
i remember its 1 headshot not one shot to the body since the main damage to the body without the headshot multiplier is 40’
ive been using PDP extensively since the PDP dmg buff while playing aimee,
i gotta say PDP is still a lot easier if compared to Grandeur in long range imo, but, the grandeur is not very accurate if was shot while moving while i can slowly strafe with PDP while in scope and still gets good hits.
PDP makes it not worthwhile to use since the shake is very bad from post shooting making shooting the same target in succession not very good
maybe thats why more people are moving to Grandeur
The main reason to use the Grandeur is the hipfire, honestly if they really wanted to balance it they’d reduce the headshot multiplier a bit. 1.85x seems good, personally I just want it to be more consistent and all about those 2 headshot kills.
I like to think of it as an oversized deagle from CS GO, or the Ambassador from TF2.
Having different headshot multipliers for different guns rubs me the wrong way.
I think the Grandeur’s fine.
Redeye as a whole is just lol.
That being said, before nerfs or whatever stat changes to the Grandeur, I really want it to have decent sights first.

That would be a great benefit for Aimee who can’t negate the sights unlike Redeye with his IR goggles.

I don’t see the issue when it may actually make a gun better for certiain playstyles, fights, or fix small balance issues.
For example, 40*1.85 = 74, meaning the Grandeur can no longer one shot Aura and Sparks to the head, giving them a minor buff, but also giving the PDP a place back in the meta. It’s a semi auto sniper that one hit ko’s lights, making it the only gun capable of that in exchange for lower rof and requiring you to zoom in balances it out quite a bit.
I don’t see the issue here to be honest.
You forget that the PDP 2HKO’s Thunder though.
I mean, each of the semi-automatic primaries have niches. Grandeur is supposed to be a slower-firing higher damage Dreiss, but also a faster firing PDP that can be hipfired.
If the Grandeur is nerfed, especially with a headshot damage nerf, the margin between the Dreiss and the Grandeur would be incredibly small.
Also, why should we care so much about 80 HP mercs dying in one hit to that thing? Kira and Aimee still live through that and are a more significant threat to a sniper’s life than Sparks and Aura.
Well, if Aimee isn’t garbage that is.

Because it’s a small buff to those respective mercs, especially Sparks.
And the issue with the Dreiss is that it doesn’t offer anything unique or interesting, they need to give it a niche that the other guns can not fill.
The only characters that have 80 HP are Sparks and Aura. They are supposed to be medics that keep the team alive, not being able to take down a Redeye with a shotgun.
In close rage? Where it’s literally the only thing the shotgun is good at? Um yes they should
Sparks and Aura already have smaller hitbox and Very Fast strafing speed.
if a guy with grandeur can do headshots with it at Aura/Sparks i call it skills
A redeye wouldn’t be able to get that close without getting shot by other players.

It’s probably not possible due to source code limitations : headshot damage is probably a straight constant rather than a variable in the parent class for all guns, because all guns seems to deal 200% of the gun’s damage as headshot damage. This means that tweaking headshot damage in its current state will affect all guns. That theory is perfectly possible in my opinion : after all, if headshot damage was a variable rather than a constant, I think SD would have started to tweak the headshot value for a lot of guns as a balance touch a long time ago.
The only way you have to nerf grandeur’s headshot damage output would then be nerfing the base damage output.
@JJMAJR lol… nobody uses shotguns on medics unless its bridge… getting 1 clicked by a grandeur is ridiculous. especially since you could pretty easily control the spread and the rate of fire is so fast multiple headshots can come out like nothing.
Then don’t play the most powerful support classes in the game, it’s that simple.
If you’re worried about Sparks being weak then it’s a problem with her, not the weapon. If Sparks had 90 HP we wouldn’t even need to talk about this issue anyways.
oh you never found out about the OP grandeur that can mow down the entire team with rapid fire like shots with the shakes are less annoying.
this grandeur is nothing compared to the old one
