Gotta nerf those flash bang grenades.

They are just too much. They flash the screen, slow you down, and the assault has 2 of them that respawn quickly. It’s annoying facing 2-4 assaults and then it’s a never ending volley of flashbangs.

Frustrating AND gives me a headache with my screen flashing every 5 seconds in a battle.

yeah the concussion grenades are not supposed to flash, they are working on that.

Ah, I was wondering why they were ALSO dealing damage.

I got killed a few times and I was like “Really? Killed by a flash bang? What is this, Call of Duty?”

Yep nerf it, the combination of flash, damage, slowdown, x2 with a fast cooldown timer and a normal frag granate makes them slightly OP.
Especially when you have a couple assaults who know how to use them will spam the nates.

Any fast respawning grenade is in danger of becoming OP. Neverming one that does damage + makes everyone unable to fight back. I would advise making it directional.

There’s a difference between the flash soldier1 has and the concussion grenade soldier2 has. I’m pretty sure you’re all talking about the concussion grenade. I also ranted about it here:

If you’re talking about concussion nades I completely agree. If they want to keep concussion nades in the game they need to nerf them heavily, removing the damage and the flash completely at least. In addition soldiers should at least only start with 1.

Concussion Grenades definitely need a bit of tweaking. It’s kind of silly that I can get kills with them with no cook-time. They’re way more useful than Frag grenades at this point for taking out players.

It is called a “Concussion” grenade…Imagine one dominating your head after bouncing off it. That concussion is most likely putting you to sleep an your never waking up, especially if you just had 3 bullets put into your abdomen an your barely hanging on; then a concussion grenade bounces off your dome an explodes…not sure how far I would make it after that. Agreed?

I think the concussion grenades should deal some damage at close range then only movement dizzy effects at medium to long range. No flash though obviously.

Okay but for the purposes of this game, they shouldn’t be more effective than frag grenades, which are limited to 1 (unless you’re a soldier) - and those don’t recharge.

I agree they need to nerf them a bit, for one they are not supposed to have the flash. This has already been said by SD, they should also only start you with 1 conc/ 1 normal grenade. To be honest though, people will still get rocked by the concussion grenades. I think the thing you guys are missing is the fact some people are good quarterbacks and some people seem to be all pro receivers.

If the conc nades keep the slowing effect, I’d prefer if they were activated by a tripwire instead of being a grenade. Then at least I can only blame my own stupidity.

This is not a realistic game. Please get that into your head. Items should never be balanced around realism, but rather how they affect the game itself. The concussion nade itself is quite unbalanced alone, adding flash/damage to it too just makes it way worse. The fact that soldiers also have two concussion nades from the start lets them easily win any 1v1 where they’re aware of the opponents spot. Sure, tactical nades should be powerful, but at the moment they’re game breaking. I don’t really like having concussion nades in the game at all (flash is far more balanced), but I guess something has to be offered for the sake of variety.

Do you agree there has to be something that can break a defense? I’ve been playing games for over 15 years an this has nothing to do with realism…it has to do with something that helps barrel through defenses. I personally don’t think “concussion” grenades are OP or wrong. All I was trying to do is give perspective on the fact that maybe concussion grenades should do some damage. I completely respect you; even if you don’t agree. In fact this is a flash bang thread, the concussion grenade definitely shouldn’t flash, but they should blur your vision. Whether this is a realistic game or not concussion grenades should DO SOMETHING; right? I’m all for possibly only giving 1 concussion grenade or up the regeneration rate of them, so they aren’t so powerful an so often, but that has to be tested; right?

The only issues with them, other than the flash is the area of effect.
It might be a bit too lenient in terms of how “accurate” the throws are.

And the second aspect is to limit them to 1, with a slower charge.
Have no problems if the damage dealt or stun time was increased with those changes.

The assault should be the most powerfull class because if the medic or fieldops has the same strenght why would you pick the assault while those 2 classes can refill themself with health/ammo.
But at the current state the assault class seems a bit overpowered because they have more health, heavy weapons and a lot of granades.

I think we need a few changes like these:

  • Same health as other classes or nerf the machineguns slightly
  • Fixed amount of granades per life or increase the cooldown timer
  • Nerf the concussion granades by removing the slowdown and flash. Still they should have a larger damage radius and deal more damage then a frag granade, also carry 1 at the time.
