Good microphone for teamspeak?

(Cyber-Knight) #1

I’ve never really had much experience with mic’s and stuff, especially when it comes to online gaming.

Could someoen direct me to a decent mic? preferably one with no earpiece(s), since ppl talking on TeamSpeak comes outta my 5.1 speakers anyways.

Get a headset, without one you’ll just end up echoing and giving feedback to everyone else.

Yeah, you definately need to use headphones when using voice software. Outside of that, any mic will do. If you do the headset route, just make sure the mic comes out far enough that it doesn’t pick up sounds from the headphones.

All the years, my Plantronics Headsets do a good job!

I own a Plantronics too and it does the job perfectly.
However, if I was to buy a new headset today, I’d go for USB.

Yep, plantronics for me as well. Using speakers will just give your clan mates a headache and annoy the hell outta them. I have 5.1 speakers as well but since most games including ET don’t support it you won’t notice any difference using headphones.

I’m using a KOSS headset, mine is called R/65B. One thing I noticed with quite a few headsets is that the sound quality of the head phones can vary quiet a lot. KOSS is really great but as an advice, whatever you do, make sure you try them before you buy.

I know im sounding pretty cheap but will my logitech SOCOM mic work?
lol

(The_Jesus_Zeppelin) #9

i didnt even know voice chat was an ability on et. but hey im gonna start using the mic thats built into my monitor, it sucks but it will work until i get paid. :bored: when…i get paid :disgust:

Voice chat is’nt part of ET, you use a seperate program such as Ventrilo or Teamspeak2.

no need to sound cheap mate, the headphones and mic set I’ve got cost me £3 lol

like Stee/DizZ says it does annoy your clan mates if ur not using headphones (dog are u listening) hehe
