"Good Medics are Gods Amongst Men"

(Samniss_Arandeen) #1

The title of this thread, folks, is a verbatim quote from a teammate I had about half an hour ago when our team had handily won a hard-fought Terminal battle, and I was second on the scoreboard as Sawbonez after our team’s Fragger.

I’m inclined to agree with said teammate, whose name and chosen Merc escapes me at the moment. Thank you, anonymous. Your words are encouragement to all of us who give up KDR (and, it seems, all recognition or even decency in the eyes of some players) in the name of keeping you Engies, Firesupports, and Assaults going strong. I may prefer to saw through some bonez, but I’m sure all you Auras, Sparkies, and Phoenixes can share in the comparison-to-deity rejoicing.

Feel free to post your personal experiences with teammates as a Medic, good and bad. I just wanted to start this thread on a positive note.

Medics ensure that the only blood flowing is that of their enemies, and thus are cherished and respected members of any good warband.

Deep.

Random, impromptu warbands are only sometimes good warbands. But the good ones make this game completely worth the time I’ve sunk into it so far.

Always, in a good team there shall be an obj specialist, a medic and an ammunition supplier. All the rest are either contributing to the three or dependent of the three.

I originally disliked Phoenix and thought he was kind of weak. After playing him for a few days, I totally changed my mind. He’s so fun and fluid in combat. Easily my favorite and most impactful medic. I still don’t know if he’s better than Sawbonez, but I think he can be just as good.

I used to be a fairly greedy player whose loadout is always dominated by combat classes (I used to roll with fragger, nader and phantom all the time, lol), but now I ALWAYS keep in phoenix. Now I go nader, phoenix and bushwhacker. Such a good loadout.

Every once in a while I’ve been the only medic in 8-player team so I’ve been really busy trying to keep everybody alive.
So I bought Phoenix and there have been some unsatisfied patients because I didn’t give a fully charged pulse for a single person. At this point I’ve explained them that I’m not gonna waste a full charge for one person, go to others and tell them to wait 10 seconds before I can heal them.
Most of the time situation ends there/ somebody else goes medic as well but few times these people have thought that they’re the ace player of the team and that’s why should get a full charge. Needless to say that I’ve stopped reviving or healing those people which causes them to lose their cool completely. Zero regrets.

Who knows how many times Kaneki has carried matches as medic.

Good medics are worth their weight in sticky bombs.

Actually when ever i see a medic player trying to help us, i would always encourage em by saying “<3 you awesome medic”, even though he couldnt help us but tried…

I respect Medics, who run n fly around revving and healing us…

Then THERE ARE THOSE FREAKING BASTARDS ! Those freaking stupid sawbonz idiots who NEVER EVER heals or revs us, all they do is run around kill, self heal, get killed… rinse n repeat !

Im the top player 99% of my matches, i never do stuff like that. I never even ask for a medic, the only thing i ask for is for ammo and ammo only. Most of the times, these awesome medics runs with me to heal me, especially those phoenix players who sometimes kills themselves trying to heal me because i am doing most of the stuff that others wont/cant. Love those amazing guys who would run into front lines to get us back up ! Those awesome players who would disengage an ez target to revive rest of us !

If you somebody wont heal me or help me? Fine. K dont expect me to back you up or get you up. If i see you getting shot, i would simply stand back till you get killed and kill the enemy.

Unless you’re playing a sniper ;D

A good or bad medic can change the entire round (from experience)

(Samniss_Arandeen) #13

Wait, you get that with Sawbonez players? In my experience, it’s mostly Auras that are unreliable. I’ve seen them referred to as Schrodinger’s Medic…and have had them run right over me straight into gunfire as someone was taking fire trying to help me up.

(neverplayseriou) #14

Luckily all the medics I get are completely useless and wait for me to die rather than to give me hp…

Even then it’s just non charged revive so I can die again with only 35 hp

Yeah, Auras. They’re faster almost everyone, so either they die first or just sprint forward with no situational awareness.

Of course there are many great Aura players out there, I love you!

Agreed. Got a nice 50-9 game on Chapel yesterday, made sure to let the 2 medics on my team know that they were the real MVPs.

dodge every med pack when low, runs away from you and dies somewhere then complains about the medics.

the life as medic is hard.

(Sinee) #20

And bad medics are sadistic mother fucker’s who defib-tap you just so they get the XP, leaving you with barely any HP so they can just sadistically tap-revive you over and over.

Fuck medics that do that. :unamused:

Although always being on the ass-end of that has made me always charge my defibs as long as I possibly can without getting killed so I always give my teammates good chunks of health, if not full HP bars.
