GG Tournament 2013
Hey Keggz. I would like to encourage people who are on the first page on this forum and look for a team, but also people who do read this and would like to play, but are too afraid of geting stomped or what ever. Everyone knows, what a n00bish person I am, and even I am setting up a team, with people I never played 4v4 before (even tho most of them are real life friends of mine). Our newest member, Captainsolo, actually played the game yesterday for the first time. All the other people I am playing with havent played this game for over 1,5 years, some of them even for more then 2 years.
Seriously, this is the last, biggest, and because of the prizes also prolly the best tournament we had for quiet a while, and maybe also the last for this game. If you liked QW like I did, and still do, you better step up, and instead of waiting for someone to invite you into a team, just do one, there are people in this forums looking, and also couple people playing this game on pub/propub who can be recruited easily I think. Give it a shot, there is nothing to loose. Just give this awesome game an awesome bye bye tournament.
cheers,

One for the money, one for the packs.

Dividing among the team? Thatâs new!
not sure what the point of tournament is if it is clear already now who will win.
Ladies and gentlemen,

yeah, rex but not kordin or samu
It´s about how good you can become. Sure Rex´s team is favourite, but there is also a 2nd place and other places that are worth playing for. You play for fun, you maybe will get smashed if you have bad luck and have to play Rex´s team or the frenchies first, but there is the loosser bracket where you can show then that you aren´t bad at all.
Dont be afraid to loose against 1 or two teams, because they seem so much better, look forward for all the teams you can beat and in the end you might land a lucky strike and even get some of the prices.

Onyn⌠Youâre amazing at motivating people! +1
Good luck with this but being 4v4 well and truly sucks in my opinion, 4v4 is really far removed from what this game is all about. If you need any quick changes to my maps in the map pool let me know.
PS. Radar is meant to allow the objective skip.
Maybe u have already noticed that the game is dead and building a team of 6+ people is almost impossible. I think we all have heard often enough that 6on6 is so much better, no need to say it again and againâŚ

The $150 will be transferred to the team captain, and it will be their responsibility to divide it amongst themselves. If they only want to split it 4 ways, then they can give $37.50 to each member, or if they want to give a portion to every player on their roster, they can do that too, but itâs up to the team how they want to split it.
I donât remember the last tournament that had such a large custom map pool. Who knows? Even the favorites might fall to some of the teams that have better custom map knowledge.

We took into consideration that, given the remaining player base and time constraints, itâs been difficult in the past few tournaments to gather 5 or 6 players per team for every single match. We didnât want to run into issues where 4 out of the 5 people show up to play, but they have to forfeit due to 1 person who has real life commitments elsewhere. 4v4 might not be optimal from the gameâs design perspective, but we have to understand what our limitations are. We just want everyone to play their matches without silly forfeits.
And yes, I know Radarâs design intent is to allow the objective skip (and weâve had this argument with others within TAW), but it really IS the only oddball map that allows that. We donât want any drama over that map, so we have taken it out of the map pool altogether. We can all agree that is a beautifully-made map, but weâll just have to enjoy it outside of tournament play.
In other news, the TAW NA ProMod and EU ProMod servers will be set up with the proper configs and all the latest maps shortly, in time for the tournamentâs start (hopefully with the No Downloads Offered error fixed). Iâve heard that the Villa ProMod server is also now running the proper configs and maps, so that is available as well. The PV ProMod and [STU] servers are still being worked on, please be patient. There is still 1 more week to go before the tournament starts, so hopefully everything will be up and running in time for the games!! :stroggtapir:
A HUGE thank you to all the server admins who are scrambling to help us! Everyone should definitely thank them if they see them!
And lastly, I have created a PayPal account to accept donations for raising the prize pool! Simply go to http://ggtournament2013.tourney.cc/pages/donations/ and click on the Donate button to be sent directly to the PayPal donations page. The money goes directly back to the players, thereâs no 10% cut for me, I promise.
