The website has a few silly things in regards to teams signing up. For starters, if you add or subtract players from your roster after you have been approved as a team, the admins are not notified. What should actually happen, is that if you change your team after it has been approved, the team should automatically move from approved back down to waiting-list. Unfortunately it does not. Also, it is VERY easy to log your team out of the tournament. At the top of the page, there are “Log Out” and a “Sign Out” options. The Log Out disconnects you from your current session, the Sign Out takes your team out of the tournament… I found that out when I accidentally removed TAW Crimson from the tournament O.o Soooo be careful. And PM us if you do.

Also. I would like to welcome all the new QW players on the Smurf team! It’s amazing how far reaching this game has become! Their players hail from: Niger in Africa, Mauritiues is an island off of Madagascar, Papusa New Guinea just north of Australia, and Macau next to Hong Kong! I wonder if they’ll choose an NA or EU server…?

But in all seriousness, their team will obviously be rejected.

Tournament information update!!!

First of all, I’m proud to announce that the prize pool is now at $400.00 USD and the Dirty Bomb Elite Packs!! We have decided to split the prize pool into 3 packages:

  1. $245.00 USD cash prize
  2. $155.00 USD cash prize
  3. Dirty Bomb Elite Packs for the whole team

The overall winner of this tournament will get to pick their prize package first, then 2nd place will pick their prize package, and 3rd place will receive the remaining prize package. Again, the prize package is applied to your WHOLE TEAM (that means you can’t request a partial cash prize and X number of Elite Pack passes, you can only pick 1 total prize package).

As we start getting close to the end of the team registration phase, please keep an eye out for the players that are still looking for a team. At this time, the following people are available to play, but are not registered to a team yet:

  1. Crytiqal
  2. Alphabeta
  3. dvs.0ne
  4. DukeNukeM

If you have room on your roster for one more, I suggest picking one of these guys up, they’re all very strong players!!

Registration will be closing in a little over 24 hours, so finalize your teams now! The first round of brackets will be generated and posted on the website (http://ggtournament2013.tourney.cc/) after registration closes. PLEASE make sure your team profile page has contact information on it so that your opponents have a way of getting in touch with you to schedule your match!

Gentlemen and lady,

Today at midnight marks the end of the sign-ups for this lovely tournament. To ensure smooth transition into our first week, I would like to remind you of a few procedures that you MUST follow.

  1. It is YOUR responsibility to schedule your own matches. You have exactly 1 week to schedule and play your match. On the week of your match, you have from Monday to Wednesday midnight to schedule a match, if you fail to do so, the match will be automatically scheduled for a Sunday at 2 pm Eastern time. To schedule a match time, you must get in contact with the opposing team, decide on a mutual time, and play at that time. Both teams MUST email ggtournament2013@gmail.com every single week with your agreed upon time. If no email is received, the scheduled match with be set for Saturday. If no time can be agreed upon by the two teams, contact the official email. I do not care if you personally talked to every single admin, you must ALWAYS email the official email with your scheduled time. There is a ONE hour window to have a fully present and ready team (present means physically on the server, not booting up, logging in, etc.). Please read the rules for more information on no-shows. If a team is a no-show for a match, and the opposing team is willing to play at another time, that is allowed but again, email the official email with this change in plans. If both teams no-show, they will both be marked with a loss. Please remember this tournament is meant to be out the spirit of competition and fun, so please be accommodating.

  2. There is no merc pool and no subs outside of your roster are permitted.

  3. Every team (win or lose) must email the admins immediately following the match about who won what maps and who won overall. Admins will also email the official email.

  4. If there is any dispute about rules during the match that you disagree with or any hackusations, please email the official email. But please remember, without concrete evidence, the original ruling will not be overturned, so come with demos. Admins have the official word during the match. You will be considered whiny until proven correct.

  5. READ THE RULES. You are responsible to know the rules. If you think a rule is being violated during a match. PAUSE THE MATCH IMMEDIATELY AND INFORM THE ADMIN. If the admin decides to continue the match, the ruling can be debated later. If you choose to sit on your dispute without mentioning anything until after the match, the appeal will most likely be thrown out.

  6. Don’t be a jerk. This week will be the most hectic with 16 teams attempting to use the few servers we have with the few admins we have. Please be as accommodating as you can.

  7. Let Nemesis kill you at all times. (<— That’s a direct order soldier!)

  • If anything I say here contradicts the rules on the first page of this thread, the first page rules take precedence. (And please inform me)

Hello Nemesis, I agree with the terms and conditions of this cup ! :slight_smile:

We had talked about this with rex once, and I think it could keep this cup interesting till the end : there’s a function with tourney.cc to give points to the team, so I thought you could for exemple give a larger amount of points to the two teams that you think are the best so you would be sure that these two don’t meet on the first week. Well of course it is just a suggestion :slight_smile:

Just dropping in to say, good job arranging the tournament… a big thanks to all the donators/sponsors of the prize pool, really nice incentive to attract teams back to ETQW. I hope it all runs smoothly, good luck to you all and see you in game! :slight_smile:

p.s. would be nice if tba could be accepted in the sign ups again, apparantly zero signed up (who let him in?! :rolleyes:) which moved us back to the waiting list for approval.

We saw that we could seed the tournament, but we want this to be a blind draw double elimination; the brackets will be randomly generated, so even if TAW Crimson has to play tba in Round 1, we’ll do it with a smile on our faces as we defeat you. :wink:
