Getting kicked or muted for no reason.

(SOSO) #1

I don’t understand why one would call a vote on their own teammate for no reason, including myself. The other day, I was playing the Railgun level and doing nothing wrong with a low ping , then some punk calls a vote to kick me. Right before i was going to ask what i did wrong, i was kicked and lost my XP . This is bull i tell you. Most people have a tendency to press the F1(yes) to any kick or mute vote that is called. Just here to share my view.

It happens, somebody just wants to annoy somebody, but maybe you misbehaved teamplay wise ? Like constantly going out the backdoor at battery even thou you know there are already allied CovOps waiting for you? Or playing FiledOps but never giving ammo to your team and instead ordering arty and air strikes. Or beeing a useless sniping CovOps who cant hit the broad side of a barn and will never provide smoke cover or stachel an objective. ET is a team game and if someone constantly ignores his team and only plays in his own small word your teammates might call a vote, hoping that a better player will connect and take up your position.

No saying that you did any of the above, only saying that the reason for votings aren’t always as obvious as a team killer.

shrug

/me wanders of to the lighthouse on battery…

…or you prolly complained when running over a friendly mine…In which case you deserved to get the boot.

On kick votes I usually press F2.
If someone is a “teamkiller” you will be able to kick him by complaining.

When I get TK’d I just v43 and continue on.

Friendly Mine deaths don’t give you the option to complain, or at least they don’t on the SD server (unless I have gone blind…). A server setting perhaps? Unfortunately people do not just press F1 to any vote or I’d be able to get rid off horrible people rather than having to give up and leave myself. Even on the SD server where at least half the players are regulars, unless I get lucky enough to be on a team where the majority knows me (and knows I only call justified votes) then people slap No. Hell, it’s often a challenge to get rid of a TKer.

I think there’s a shrubmod option that allow you to disable teamkills from mines, arty, airstrikes and the like.

There is a vanilla ET option to turn complaints off for these…
