getting annoyed bye -SS- SpecOp

(DrGonzo) #1

i was just playing on a little server. in the beginning it was fun, but then -SS- SpecOp connected! he snipered a bit then started to annoy other players and call them noobs, faggots, etc.!! i asked him kindly to leave but he responded with the usual swearings! i called a vote but not all people had realized how annoying he was!! after the vote had failed he joined specs to change his name into exactly my nick!!! then he started to wright stuff like ā€œi’m a fagā€, ā€œi fuck queen momā€(he must have thought i’m a brit!!), … now it was impossible to kick him because the people didn’t know who was the real and who was the false ā€œmeā€!!! then i left!!!
what’s wrong with these kids from -SS- (what a stupid clan tag, but it fits to their attitude)??? if anybody meets SpecOp again, please tell him what a stinking faschist he is!!!

you should have joined the other team and then spent the entire game making it your personel mission to kill him so that he spent half the game in limbo, then at the end when he has a shit score make jokes about him being a noob just to humiliate him. One thing that shuts up a big mouth is when they rearlise that they have the lower score than the person they are arguing with

With a 3 map campaign i get something like 1800xp as being medic, but i like the 122-0 k ratio more then xp

(Englander) #4

Nothing like keeping on the topic.

(Belisarius) #5

Hahaha that 122-0 ratio completely explains the difference between your and mine score in a 3-mapper. :blah: I’m happy to rack up 25…suck at firefights…a new mouse would probably work wonders.

But aren’t you bragging a bit on the ā€˜0’? You mean that you have a sixth sense allowing you to avoid all mortars, artillery and panzerfausts? That’s what gets me killed.

/back to our regularly scheduled programming

Bragging,the whole sentence is BS

Something similar happened to me on vanilla Wolf a while ago. That time, the idiot went through the whole of the team’s nicks, TKing with a flamer.

What made him even more annoying was that he TKed the player whose name he was using, at spawn, so that he could wreak havoc and the ā€œrealā€ player had to sit in limbo.

What really annoys me about this, and similar situations, is that the developers still haven’t implemented code to stop name duplication after connecting. Maybe this is a job for Shrub and Bani.

It should ignore any colour codes and concentrate on just the text.

Also, votes to kick for TKing should be limited to the team calling the vote.

(Emon) #8

You see, this is why I want my own server. Then I can say, ā€œWatch out for this guy -> :banned:ā€

(Kendle) #9

I think PunkBuster already addresses this. It can certainly kick for too many name changes (configurable by the server Admin), and I believe it can also stop players having duplicate names.

But the way to deal with these issues is to either get in touch with an Admin (who may be on the server or contactable through IRC), or go somewhere else. Try to find servers where Admins are active and build up a list of servers that are relatively lamer free, there are plenty out there.

(No1_sonuk) #10

IMO, it should stop all changes while the game is running, and put in an admin caller so it’s not required to change names to call an admin.

\pb_sv_dupnumgrace 10 => stops the nick-faking

YES. How annoying is it when you have an idiot on your team shooting all his teammates (but not killing them, just until their energy goes right down to zero, so he won’t get kicked for complaints) and then when you go to vote him off it doesn’t work because the other team either 1) don’t know who he is or what he’s doing so won’t vote or 2) they know what he’s doing and vote NOT to kick him since it’s helping them win. It’s like having a permanent covert ops on your side.

Also while we’re on the topic of ppl being annoying on purpose, can we PLEASE have voting changed in the next update. Make it so players can only call votes once every 5 minutes at least. About a quarter of games I’ve played are spoiled because someone wants to call a vote on every single option they can find. Or they want to change maps and when everyone votes no they just keep doing it. Then you have the idiots who vote yes for everything no matter what, since stopping to read the text is a good way of getting yourself killed, and votes get passed such as ā€˜load competition settings’ (read: load settings where the next game will never get started coz ppl don’t press f3) or ā€˜match reset’ when allies are seconds away from completing the objective. One server I was on recently had a guy called Hmmm who kept calling the same vote for at least an hour, he would wait until one finished then call the next within 1 second. We couldn’t kick him since the server had that option disabled, so we voted to mute him which is pointless since he could still call votes. It was the only large server I had a low ping on that had punkbuster turned on, so I really didn’t want to leave, but eventually I had to because the voting was driving me crazy. 3 HOURS LATER I decided to go back for another game, and he was still there doing the same thing constantly. I gave up and went to play Chaser instead. At first we thought it was just an annoying 10 yr old or something but now I figure he must have setup a macro to keep voting automatically all night long.

These idiots spoil games, and make me want to play ET less. Please consider some changes for an update SD

I agree, this is annoying, and allowing kick votes, for people on your own team, to be voted on only by your team may help. The reason I pipe in though is that in situation 1, it would probably help if you told the other team what that person is doing. I don’t know how many times I have seen a kick vote come up with no explanation. I usually respond by asking, ā€œwhy?ā€ and more often than not, I don’t get a response, so of course I vote no. If you have a reason, state it to everyone, don’t just assume that they will know what the problem is; because, as far as I know, you are simply some jerk trying to kick someone because you keep running across their mines. As for situation 2, if that’s how the other team is playing it, its time to go find a different server.

What the hell??? Where did this come from :???:

yeah, i got 200 kills, 0 deaths on radar, beat that!
