I saw the Get Smart videos about gameplay. I absolutely love her voice. The game looks smooth. And if she’s doing announcements like updating your objectives and stuff, I’m totally buying this game. Anyone know who’s the voice actress?
get smart narrator voice
Lol… I don’t know the actress, but yeah, good choice in voice talent, something smooth and understandable. I hate games that try to make you feel like a soldier… with the commander calling you a maggot with a fake Sgt. Badass voice…
I especially disliked Red Orchestra’s tutorials… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWr8tfB0Rqs
It puts you in a WWII mood kinda, and makes you feel like a soviet recruit… but the guys accent is so laughable I can’t take it too seriously…
Yeah… A “realism” game based around the second world war, that makes you feel like a soviet recruit! In the second world war!! I mean, who’d have come up with such a crazy and misplaced idea? Whoever they are, they’re stoopids!
The voice is Niki, Chris Sweetman’s girlfriend! Normally your faction commander gives updates, but her voice is used when we need to have a neutral one.
It was actually originally a male voice… but when we couldn’t do female player characters from the game, we thought it was a big deal to at least have this in.
aah yes. Yet another case of the baffling Splash Damage icon.
Edit: Ninja’d. embarrassingly.

Audio Directors choose their girlfriends by voice.

Great choice! She does an excellent job.
Yeah she sounds hot, but she wouldn’t fit in-game announcement voices. Great for tutorials though.
Well, she is in some of the levels, but not as a Commander. It’s whenever we needed a voice to represent a computer AI or a general announcement in the environment.
If you could get some generic drill instructor lines shouting about how I’m a maggot who needs to try harder and have her read them in that neutral voice, that would be about a billion kinds of great.
As the ‘Ark’s voice’ it would suit well yeah. It’s exactly what you would expect to hear in train-rides through the exhibitions.
I was just afraid of something similar to the soviet-themed lady in TF2. She’s great for an absurd game like that, but hearing Niki say ‘Security has destroyed the barricade’ would be off-putting. But glad that’s not happening.
Lol
Yeah, her voice kinda… Forces you to listen to it, that sure is something
I would laugh if you replied to ‘‘Yeah she sounds hot’’ But oh well - I don’t think Chris would be too happy if he found out
Anyways… She is the one talking when the ventilation system goes offline in The Reactor, yeah?
And for some reason I wouldn’t mind seeing her as the voice to the lady to the left of this screenshot http://i52.tinypic.com/2zhldo0.jpg
If you could’ve modeled her into the game she would be perfect for a cutscene or two, but then maybe Niki would have to cut the automaton voice

A splendid tactic for the tutorial videos.
We need to do more with this. Maybe she should comment whenever you rage-quit or grieve. That will get at least the male audience to behave more appropriately.

Friendly Fire:
‘‘What are you doing? Stop it’’
Not having done a single objective
‘‘You should click up the objective-wheel’’
And all that… Yeah, that would be something! A little creepy, but yeah… Something
Would probably work
