Friendly Fire:

‘‘What are you doing? Stop it’’

Not having done a single objective

‘‘You should click up the objective-wheel’’

And all that… Yeah, that would be something! A little creepy, but yeah… Something :stuck_out_tongue: Would probably work
I like this idea a lot. Especially that first line.

(tokamak) #22

That first line could encourage them though.

…I spent too much time on Reddit.

(Linsolv) #23

What are you saying, Toka? That people might be interested in a woman who’s angry at them? That’s silly, nobody would ever have a fetish like that.

EDIT: I should add, my link is totally worksafe. Having a link relating to a “fetish” seems like it could lead some unsavory places, but not in this case.

(Schwarzeis) #24

A good idea that is far too late to even make it the discussion-table :stuck_out_tongue:
That first line could encourage them though.

It could encourage them? How?

And if so… No, we wouldn’t want that :stuck_out_tongue:

But luckily friendly fire is off by default, so… Yeah… No matter what we would be in the safe-zone :stuck_out_tongue:

Off-Topic, but I don’t think I like that friendly fire is off by default :l Oh well

(stoop) #25

lol is she modeled in the game?

(Schwarzeis) #26

Nope :l

(10 Nope :l)

(Jess Alon) #27

You’re kind of creepy sir.

(stoop) #28

Yeah I know. I like her voice more than the naked chicks in Duke Nukem Forever.

Haha, no thanks
I already get enough abuse from the SatNav
She gets pretty pissed if take a wrong exit, “Do a U-turn in the motorway when possible!”

I like how Splash Damage incorporates people close to their real lives into their game. I read somewhere that all the names in the game comes from friends/family members? Verrrrry cool imo.

(Realirony) #31

Yea i enjoy their take on making the game personal. Makes me feel like they still respect their art and are creating from the passion of gaming instead of trying to fill their wallets (which is a great side-effect of being good at your artform).

All around the guys and girls over at SD seem like some of your close friends or neighbors making games for you rather than some scary corporation with an 80 story headquarters that has a constant lightning cloud hovering over it with the CEO on the roof rubbing his hands together and muttering “yes, yes, dance my puppets”

lol big imagination i see.

(Nail) #33

nice thought, but we still have to deal with people like “Lackovision” and "Meh"thesda who are muttering “yes, yes, dance my puppets”

(RadBrad31) #34

I like what Bethesda has contributed. Multiple 100+ hour single player games? When they don’t have to make games that big because very few other companies do, I respect that. I am actually really excited that they teamed up together.

Definitely on the Activision part though, and I’m afraid Ubisoft is heading down that road too. I love Assassin’s Creed, but they’re coming out with too many of em and are going to kill the franchise.

(Singh400) #35

Tenner says she is a member of the forums and she is freaking the **** out right now

(Linsolv) #36

Well, that’s awesome. I must say—mission complete!
The voice is Niki, Chris Sweetman’s girlfriend! Normally your faction commander gives updates, but her voice is used when we need to have a neutral one.

It was actually originally a male voice… but when we couldn’t do female player characters from the game, we thought it was a big deal to at least have this in.
You guys are the best

I’ve never really understood the contempt that Bethesda gets from some gamers. Sure, their games tend to have a lot of bugs when compared to a much shorter game. But the sheer magnitude of them would make it really hard to catch everything.

Here are the stats for Oblivion, as I could find them.

16 square miles (above ground only, doesn’t include dungeons)
200+ total dungeons
200 approximate hours it takes to see and do everything
150+ total quests
1000+ Unique NPCs

It would be impossible to test every possible path a person could take through the world. There are bound to be issues that slip through the cracks.

Technically that might be true. As far as aesthetics and gameplay go there’s about 3 towns, 5 dungeons and 5 unique NPC’s.

Niki’s voice will certainly increase people’s interest when watching the latests
vids and all so mission accomplished indeed.

I myself much rather hear a dude. I’m glad she’s not doing all the voice overs.
Female voice-overs in MP-FPS irritate me in general.
Nothing personal Niki, you did very well and you could be the next Lara Croft!
