Gas-tunnel revive farming bannable?

(Jostabeere) #1

Is it bannable if people spam revives with 2 medics in a gas tunnel to get incredible amounts of EXP? I mean it’s a farm method and plain game exploiting. I’ve recorded people doing it, but wouldn’t make the effort to report if it isn’t bannable.

(Faraleth) #2

As far as I know, no form of farming is tolerated. Bannable? - I’m not 100% sure on this, but I’d image they would take some form of disciplinary action (maybe temp ban or roll-back).

If you can remember the people’s steam names and profile links, I’d report them to support, because then they can look into the matter. I can’t be sure on the action they might take upon those found to be doing so, but I can definitely say farming is against the rules.

(Jostabeere) #3

I have their names, and screens of result + a video of them farming EXP.

(Faraleth) #4

Brilliant, I’d send that to support then! If you don’t have their steam profile link(s), then I’d include a time-frame in which it took place (and possibly the server, if you can remember), because it will help the GM’s track them down, if any action is taken against them.

I say report away. I’ll never understand farming in this game. Why play the game if you aren’t actually going to play? The level rewards are meh at best.

(avidCow) #6

Report those suckers.

(gg2ez) #7

Report them to TS, exploiters deserve to be banned.

(ThatRandomGuy) #8

If you need to ask if something is bad or not, then ITS BAD !

Probably for the missions, not levels.

(Vinos) #10

Why report, they only speed up the process of getting equipment cases from leveling. Levels don’t mean much anyway.

(Faraleth) #11

@Vinos because experience farming is simply against the rules. It can lead to things such as accessing competitive or level 10+ servers before you should, as well as getting you credits illegitimately.

The mission system is designed around gaining different types of exp, and the players in question may have bypassed the missions quickly by farming in this method - this of course, is NOT how the game is supposed to be played. Thus, it’s against the rules.

Heaven forbid they actually just play the game to complete missions. If you spend the entire match reviving the people who actually need it (instead of farming with someone in a tunnel and screwing your team), you’ll get a ton of support exp too.

(god1) #13

They should be warned, not banned. If the devs think it’s a big enough issue they’ll surely make it impossible as soon as possible.

(Backuplight) #14

Not to mention the negative impact of this happening when other people are joining and trying to actually play the game. No sympathy for people wasting everyone’s time by “farming”.

(Jostabeere) #15

They’re both reported.

(Litego) #16

Sure they could make the gas insta finish people who die in it. But they could still just play fletcher, fragger, nader or something and blow themselves up over and over. Devs can’t really make that one impossible. Only way is to remove self damage, and that’s just stupid and game breaking.

(Daergar) #17

I’ve completely missed the point of “farming”. One case per level, big whoop?

(1AGRESSOR) #18

aaa

(Jostabeere) #19

We could just block things like reviving, because the nanites or magnets (how do they work) or something which are in the defib/revivr are bocked by the special gas.

(Szakalot) #20

silly. What if a person accidentaly run in too fast? are you saying that the gas should be an auto-gib? What about self-kill from explosives, or a fall to their deaths?

Just remove support xp from revives after gas-deaths. Problem solved.
