U have to be the sniper class then choose the sniper rifle. Is this a trick question?
Only the Covert Ops gets a Garand with a sniper scope - the Engineer’s Garand has a grenade launcher attachment.
If you meant like ironsights (bringing the gun up and aiming down the sight), ET doesn’t have that (ETQW does, however).
Hmm…then Wils can I ask you about another QW feature…In the E3 vids it shows people running with their gun down. Does this mean that you can’t shoot while sprinting? I could understand less accuracy but not shooting at all?!
Right now you can’t sprint and shoot, but you can sprint indefinitely (there’s no stamina meter). It doesn’t prevent you from shooting, though - it just slows you back down to normal running speed when you do.
So what’s the point in NOT sprinting all the time ? Stealth ? It’s very unreliable, I thought headshots are all that counts ?
By the way: it would be great to have separate stats for scoped and unscoped mode for garand (and ET:QW equivalent, if it works this way).
Yeah, having it automatically shift from sprint to run when you start shooting does seem an odd bit of design. Just like the Walk was obsolete in W:ET as Crouch and Run were both better, will Run be redundant in ETQW?
I suppose this is why the walkspeed looked so crazy fast in the E3 vids.
walk was never obsolete in either W:ET or RTCW – however it was useless if your keysetup didn’t work well with auto run off…but most ppl had autorun on and then crouching was easier than a toggle or script.
True… But I now use a toggle which can toggle between run and walk. It allso reverts to run if I press sprint.
The main problem with what’s sugested for ET:QW is that you can sprint, and slow down by shooting so that you can keep on sprinting once you stopped firing. Or there could be an intermediate speed where you shoot less accurate then running normally, but steel at increased speads compared to normal run.
That is MUCH better than the BF2 system where you can’t shoot if you touch sprint
assuming there is no delay in firing when you come out of your sprint to shoot…wouldn’t u just want to keep some sorta autoSPRINT on at all times and just treat Running like you would Walking in the previous games?
good point if its not gonna run out then why would you stop using it? Apart from stealth/sneaking etc
mmh I think I’m gonna run with knive all the time just to get the extra sprint bonus then. ^^
If mines work the same way as they do in W:ET (explosion is delayed), then sprint is actually a counter to mines. And slow-movers are pretty much dead once they step onto mine, unless engineer and there’s no one nearby.
