Gamesdomain to close all servers soon (re: mp_marketgarden)

Splash damage made mp_marketgarden for Games Domain but it seems like BT are repeating history and will be closing all Games Domain multiplayer servers within the next month http://forums.gamesdomain.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4313 . mp_marketgarden is very popular at gamesdomain and it will be a shame to see such a great map disappear on UK servers.

Are are you planning on bringing out a public mp_marketgarden which does not have the advertising as can be seen here http://www.adamcallender.zen.co.uk/screenies/shot0000.jpg . If you do then other ISP’s would be very interested in giving a new home to all the fans of mp_marketgarden including myself

Thanks for the heads-up!

I’ll look in to putting up a couple of high-player-count Splash Damage Market Garden/Tram Siege servers - we’re hosted on the same network as Games Domain (Barrysworld) and it will be just as fast.

If I haven’t sorted this by next week, remind me by bumping this post or nudging one of the other Splash Damage guys.

Don’t let this fantastic map die - We seE 120 players on the two 60 player servers every night for last year - even xmas eve / new years etc lol

Since we dropped the two GD servers to 50 players they still been packed.

Anyone interested whose reading - We have put up a petition to present to BT regarding them pulling the plug…

I can understand that Splash Damage team may not be able to sign - what with BT paying for design etc - But please do read the comments Locki as a greaT many of them are in praise of Splash damage’ Excellent map design.

hello , let me introduce myself,im a big fan of the mp marketgarden…i used to and still am visit the gamesdomain forums for RTCW,but as u know BT shuts them all down in a few weeks.
a link thats been posted brought me here since u maybe be hosting the mp marketgarden (60/60) :bump:
i and many other regular players from the gamesdomain are looking for a “new home”…what im trying to say is…it would be supercool if the mp MG comes over here and continue “THE SAGA OF MARKETGARDEN”

I presume there will be no public version of mp_marketgarden released?. If an ISP wanted to host the mp_marketgarden map they would effectively be advertising BT products :banghead:

I’ve just fired off another mail to our server admins at Barrysworld, but I’ve still not had any reply at all yet which is frustrating.

If the worst comes to the worst, then I’ll drive up to London myself to install a new server at a different ISP to get this running.
