Yes that would be far, far better. Messing around with hud information on actual objects/actors in the game environment is something that needs to be done with the greatest care.Preferably with a slight delay as well. I have no issue with receiving feedback on what I did in the game, but that feedback shouldn’t be usable in other information, like player location.

The best thing should still be a HUD sign. Sure COD’s is ostentatious but at least it’s not directly usable.

I’m really disappointed because of the lack of good Brink gameplay videos coming from the E3. Nothing generates hype better than a proper high quality gameplay video that lasts more than 5 minutes. While the intro movie released recently is cool, it shows nothing from the game itself, it’s really hard to get excited about something that may or may not be in the game.

I’m hoping that whatever is left to be released in E3 of Brink will prove me wrong. But Bethesda and Splashdamage should take an example from Blizzard, who sold me Diablo 3 with that long gameplay trailer, on the same day when the game was first announced about 2 years ago. What made me excited about Brink in the first place, were those small gameplay videos. The written previews don’t sell these games like actual videos available to everyone in YouTube do, because even I could have written most of those articles based on a year old footage from the game.
