new to me. thanks a lot.

the new character costumization ui looks better than the old one but i find it a bit confusing when selecting different outfits. the weapon costumization surprised me in its variety.

i also must say that the gameplay looks pretty slow. but i guess its intentional so you see the detailed characters?! i also missed the “in your face” close combat. standing on a bridge, shooting down is just boring. but i guess i just have a different playstyle than the guy that was filmed.

the gttv vid is up now as well:

Heh, no Rage and Brink this year - moar time for Quake Wars and Starcraft 2 for me , yay!

Was this console gameplay, right? No wonder to the wooden animation then. Btw, remind me, is Brink model animation still at 30 fps or at 60 like in, for example, Rage?

gttv dev walkthrough is up:

(SebaSOFT) #90

Is more explained and less reiterative. I think is the best of E3. Even if it’s the same recorded gameplay

(tokamak) #91

But really, is this the best video footage SD could’ve come up with?

(Joe999) #92

here’s the real stuff:

While there is always a balance in these things, I don’t mind about a video that doesn’t totally blow me or you away. We are the ones who will be pausing it and analysing what we see, the vast majority will just get a quick positive or negative impression before moving onto the next piece of footage from E3. The video does what it needs to, and as much as I’d like to see more/have a better quality piece of footage to gander at, I’m ok with them investing that time into development instead.

Indeed, even making a solid continuous piece of footage with a fairly long run time isn’t easy, especially in an alpha where bugs/crashes can pop up anywhere and potentially embugger an entire segment of footage.

Just look at the first clips MW2 aired

(0xT1) #95

I’m under the impression they’re using a heavy in the demo, but I guess that doesn’t justify the other players =p

(Zhou Yu) #96

I believe they have said, here or in IRC, that the player character is a medium (as are the bots I would guess) and that the bots are on a relatively low difficulty setting and therefore less agile/evasive than they otherwise could be.

oh, my bad then
