i think it would be awesome if 1 of the many empty unranked servers would be changed to a server that anyone who just wont’s to mess around could play on as a group one a week at a set time doing stuff like throwing 20 (it would be an unbalanced server) vampire/violator markers simultaneously to see what i looks like, make a bar across a doorway with tripmines, make 3rd-eye discoballs, torm-taxi, use rocketlanchers for ait, make medcrate towers, shoot at magogs, and other random things

if anybody has/knows a server to do this on, or just another idea for stuff to do
post it here

i believe there called Unranked servers, very rare being who shy away from daylight and hate having company

more than enough unranked servers about, pick one together and crash it with stuff like that :slight_smile:

Nope, certainly not. You are however slightly right, because ranked servers no longer offer anything unranked servers can’t, apart from the fact that ranked servers ensure vanilla settings.

When in the server browser, click filters and then disable all filters. See the difference in the amount of servers :wink:

Ranked servers are tracking stats again. Don’t think they have a site anymore to look players stats up though.

That’s true, the only place to view your stats is ingame which I don’t think many people use anyway. IE everyone go unranked and play custom games! :smiley:

another fun thing to do would be set times for matches on old mods (dusk, brace, etc.)

note: most unranked servers have bots, turned on. with altered playernames, sometimes.
so comclude HOW empty they are, isn’t easy.

I meant that there are next to no living, breathing people who play unranked. Also, i don’t class bots as players, since they get replaced by people joining, making them an inferior race to us!!

the games on other mods, like brace and dusk would be good, but the difficulty is getting people to join, since most people have there game set so only ranked servers are shown, so they don’t get to see the work by some of the members of the community, its a shame really :confused:

sometimes.
when i know thats there is good players sometime.
and when server is run not on crappy hardware[ETQW server eat considerable HW resources. much more, than some newbie server admins hope 2 feed 2 it], by brainless admins[ie, server clean, w/o (usually infested w/malware-rootkits)3rd party software, including VoIP and server management-related, stuff.
but unusuall.
cuz most of them are empty or inhabited by bots only 95% of time.
not without reasons, i guess.

The amount of players who still play and check these forums on a regular basis is extremely small.
