i just got kicked for the first time in my life. On Goldrush some guy from the FUN clan was warning people not to go through their spawn, then another one of thier FUN clan said you can go through their spawn if you dont shoot any weapons. So i ran through their spawn and stabbed someone in the back with my knife then i was kicked. Really i thought it was funny but i guess they did not. Clearly not a FUN server

this is crazy ,there called fun yet they dont let u have any,dont they understand thats a valid way to the bank and one wich is often used by allies,maybe all the SD regs should go on when goldrush is on and spawn kill them with knives :smiley:

Oh well it made me laugh so I guess in some ways they do give some people fun ,just not the ones who are on the servers :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmmm, I remember you, you were the one that was asked to stop spawn killing but then kept right at it. One of the best players we had in the game right up until the last bit there.
Running thru is one thing, running in and attempting to spawnkill is another. If ppl happen to spawn when your running thru thats tough, if they arent then your lucky. The FuN ET servers seem to attract alot of ppl new to the game (as in never even played RTCW), and we are aware of this, that is why we get touchy about spawnkilling, getting killed as soon as you spawn is not FuN. And, before anyone says anything…yes we have had to deal with our own members doing the same things and they have been dealt with the same way.

Run thru spawn all you want, but dont stop to try and take out as many ppl as you can. As to the ‘Some guy’ that kicked you, I’m not a guy, and the one you stabbed in the back was me. So that goes further to show that it was a deliberate kill in spawn. If you were just ‘running thru’ as you claim, you wouldnt have done that seeing as I wasnt even shooting at you.

Hi, I am one of the senior admins for [FuN] servers. I also host the website and host and design the forums. An seneca is the designer of the website.

What most people realise is that we spend our time and money to bring these servers to you people for free. We host 2 Enemy Territory Servers and 6 RTCW servers (aswell as a GTA Vice City MTA server)

We all have jobs and real lives, we also have social lives. For the amount we offer we should charge you for the priviledge, but we dont.

We cater for the players that keep coming back to us and for ppl who want to play the way we do. We dont cater for the way you want to play, other servers do. We cater for a different “market” of players. We understand that a lot of people dont like the way to play, but we dont care, its the type of players we cater for are that we aim to please.

We are not serious players, we are the type of players that get home after work and just play to muck about. I mean some of us are not top players. We are not a clan, we are a community of players, a lot of time we are not playing but doing other things as a group, for example 2 radio stations are broadcast by member (me one of them) we play other games online aswell and generally have fun. We have to ofter stop playing or do what we doing to see to servers or deal with ppl causing trouble.

I hope this explains why we dont tolerate certain behaviour and how we work. We can recommend a few servers for the type of play you are interested in. :fiesta:

Its up to you how you run the FUN servers but I dont see how you can moan about being stabbed with a knife in your spawn especially on Gold Rush,I agree that you should enter that area only to run through it and not to wait around for u to spawn but on the other hand if the Axis do spawn while you have just entered that area you should be allowed to use your SMG.

IMO I think because u have a shield and because your probably gonna spawn with others so you will out number the Allie easily enough to kill him,you should only kick people who constantly stay waiting in your spawn IMO.

But its your server and its up to you how you run it,we all have different views on what should and shouldnt happen in the game so GOOD LUCK with your servers.

In the entire campaign i went near your spawn twice (thats twice in six maps) You make it sound like i was sitting waiting for you to spawn. As you said i was one of the better players so why would i need to spawn camp you. On oasis i was running through near the axis second spawn (this is a common route on every other server i have ever played on) and saw a field ops with his back to me dropping ammo (XP whoring nice) so i killed him. If i dont kill him i get shot in the back when he turns around. I was then warned not to be a spawn camper “or i was gone” (the exact words if memory serves) When i was warned not to spawn camp i told you i was not camping in a reasonable manner. All you (im not sure which FUN it was) wrote was the word “bullshit” two or three times. That was just plain rude but i choose to forget and forgive and carry on playing. Then later on Goldrush you started complaining that other players (not me) were spawn camping you. One member of your clan mentioned something about not using guns when going through the spawn so i decided to run through with my knife drawn. Two people were there i killed one (with my knife) and ran on through ignoring the second. So the point i make here is. 1: At least one of your members was threatening and rude to me. 2: You should check you get your facts straight rather than kicking someone because you are frustrated. Again i state that i was not spawn camping. In ET the allies have to go past the Axis spawn point, this is not really a choice. If i see an Axis i shoot them else they shoot me. This is a fact of ET. Run your servers how you wish but dont accuse me of spawn camping when i was not and dont be rude and insulting.

I was kicked from the Fun server for supposed spawncamping aswell. Same map only I wasn’t even near their spawn(I was escorting truck past truckbarrier1) & axis spawn so I whipped out my panzer & got 7 with one shot, one of the FUN clanmembers said something but I missed it as I was kicked a second or 2 later. There where 2 Fun clan members on the axis team & they must not have liked it.

Read a bit, spawn camping is different then spawn killing, so that solves that. As far as a member saying b***s***, the server logs will be checked and the member will be dealt with but I dont recall it being a FuN member but a player who was on the axis, whoever the player was will be dealt with because we dont tolerate that kind of language on our servers. Like I said server logs will be checked. You were only kicked for a few hours, it’s not the end of the world, and its only a game. Nothing to get yourself all worked up about a day later.

If you ever feel like playing there again you are welcome on our servers.

Its a common and valid route and its only right if you kill the people on the way through that area ,its tough luck if some of the axis get wasted just as your running through and they spawn or theres an axis waiting around like you mention.

I can see why these server are for the most part filled with new players,any experienced ones will not tolerate such rules.

But its there server and if thats the way they want to run it ,its up to them :smiley:

well you say you recall the insult yet you did nothing about it at the time. If you are going to make up strange rules for your server then i suggest you state them clearly and apply them equally this will avoid any fuss in future. I wont be playing on your server again thanks but i would be very pleased to see you on SD’s server where a person of your reasonable dispostion would be made very welcome im sure. (edit: sorry this sounds very sarcastic, its not meant to be)

[FuN] have always had a strict policy about not entering the oppositions spawn area, we are not a warring clan and view this as unsportsmanlike behavour, getting killed as you spawn by knife or by flamer is not fun
As one of those so called ‘experienced’ players I do tolerate such rules

Even if that spawn area is one of the key ways the Allies go,like on Oasis at the second axis spawn I use those steps what face the spawn to go to the guns, thats my favourite way, I get shot in the back alot going up them as the axis spawn behind me,if that way is cut off and can only be used by axis that IMO gives the axis an unfair advantage and alot less to think about.

If people are waiting for u to spawn with heavy weapons fair enough kick them but for the people who choose those ways just to get to another place or are going that way and you spawn on them they should be allowed to shoot back and they should be allowed to go that way without thinking ill be kicked if I do.With those types of rules you wont get people commenting on your server in threads like this.

Please dont think iam trying to say your server sucks iam not,I just think you have taken some of the rules to the extreme.But if the guys what play there are happy, keep it as it is.:slight_smile:

Simply set respawn invulnerability to 5 or 6 seconds and your problem is solved. Everyone who goes through the spawn will be wasted by players that don’t take any damage at all. And when a player just stands there, e.g. if he is afk, then you should kick the afk-player and not the player who kills him. Or do you guard the spawn area, only to wait for players who go through there and kill you (so that you have a reason to kick them)?

Its nice to see that there hasn’t been any flaming on this topic, and perhaps we are extreme when it comes to being in the spawn, but with an insane number of people spawnkilling we have to be.

Perhaps setting the invulnerability to a longer duration as suggested may work.

Anyway, you guys don’t seem like a bad bunch…neither are we so hope to see at least some of you on our servers again.
