A new blog post has been added:
This week has seen a lot of new features hitting Dirty Bomb with The Phoenix Update and the three week countdown has also begun until the Splash Team will take on Tough Mudder for our favourite charity Special Effect.
Tough Mudder for Special Effect
On the 26th of September a team of our finest will be taking part in the 2015 London South Tough Mudder to raise money and awareness for the charity ‘Special Effect’.
Special Effect are putting fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities by helping them to play video games and access communication and leisure technology. By using technology ranging from modified joypads to eye-control, Special Effect are finding ways for people to play to the very best of their abilities, but they’re not just doing it for fun. They’re having a profoundly positive impact on therapy, confidence and rehabilitation, and by leveling the playing field, they’re bringing families and friends together.
With all that in mind, we’ll be raising money for Special Effect by subjecting some of our Devs to inhuman feats of strength, stamina and…a little torture. If you would like to sponsor us you can through our JustGiving page.
The Phoenix Update
On Wednesday we saw The Phoenix Update go live in Dirty Bomb, which brought not only the new Merc Phoenix to the table, but also a host of other features including Player Reporting, Private Matches and a selection of new Cases purchasable in the shop.
Read the full Phoenix Update blog post for the full run-down and make sure to leave a comment letting us know what you think of it.
On Sunday the 13th DB Nation will be hosting two 16-team double elimination tournaments: one for NA and one for EU. Not only with some of the best teams in Dirty Bomb be playing, but a band of merry men from Splash Damage will also be entering to see how they fare against the competitive community.
The tournament will be streamed on the DBNation Twitch Channel and will be live from 16:00BST, so tune in and check it out.
And that was the big things for this week. Hope you all have a great weekend, and as always, Stay Fresh!
