you must need a copy of rtcw as 100MB-200MB is nowhere near enough for a game of high standards to stand alone, come on ppl get a grip, its free but you’ll need an original copy of stein to play, and as you can pick one up for about £10-£15 money is made for all those involved, its comon sense, well i hope so i didn’t bother to read all the posts as most of them started the same referecing some artical or quoting a friend, so i hope the answers come to us all but i still think…nae i’m 99% sure that you will need a copy of Stein.

Keep up the good work SD folks news of a beta, is better of no news at all

I know that the likes of TV infomercials and internet spam have made us all skeptics, but really … FREE means FREE :slight_smile:

Who btw told you it’s going to be 100-200 MB ? The leaked demo alone was 100 MB itself, so a ‘real game’ would be defenitely more.

I never said that i wouldn’t be free to download, i said that you would need a copy of stein, as the last i had read (here) was that the download would be around 120mb, which to me suggested that you require your rtcw and cdkey.

thanks Wils, but how big are we talking here?? 500mb? 700mb?, my only concern is that dial-up players will take ages to dl the game and hold up the ppl with faster cons, will you use D.A.P(crosses fingers i got the trial 2mb line from blueyonder and i will have it back soonand speeds of 350-400kb/s gets the thumbs up from me), bitTorrent(i find this good, not great but good, it depends on how many ppl are dling the file and how many ppl have the file, but i regularly get 190-230kb/s)

anyhoo cheers wils thanks for clearing that up for me, i know other ppl said it too but they dont work here.
