After spending 50,000 credits on Stoker and extensively testing him and his abilities, I can find very few reasons to pick him over Fragger. Their weapons are basically the same so no comparison needed there, but I would argue that Fragger’s grenade is worth a lot more than Stoker’s Molotov. I understand that it is made to be used to deny areas and has a potential to take down an EV, but I simply think it’s not worth that 40 second cool down. Think of it this way: Fragger can use 3 grenades and be close to a cool down for a 4th before Stoker can use his Molotov for a second time. To me, 3 of Fragger’s grenades is worth exponentially more than a Molotov. And I know it lasts for 10 seconds but after the initial use it isn’t going to pick up any more kills. And it’s usefulness on the EV is outclassed by any other fire support merc. Of course he has an ammo station and of course he’s the most viable fire support/ammo giver on underground, but with the reduction in points given by ammo, it seems a bit less rewarding than it used to be. And of course Fragger has a larger health pool boosting his survivability significantly above most other mercs. These are just some thoughts, and I know Stoker has a place in this game. I’ve seen people do some great things with him. I just worry how much he’ll be played after the novelty starts to wear off. Much like what happened to Red Eye. Do you think Stoker will still be as relevant in 2 or 3 months time?

A stoker can throw a Molotov on the C4 and even if all defenders are dead, it can’t be defused for 10 seconds. In that time so much can happen. The timer can run out, the next respawn wave can come in. Lots of time for the team to make plays while the other team sits on their butts roasting marshmallows.

Saying Stoker and Fragger are the same is like saying Vassili and Rhino are the same.

They’re two mercs for two different kind of situations. Pretty silly to say one would make either one pointless
His molotov is incredibly strong for taking out single targets. If you throw it right at someone or at their feet you’re pretty much guaranteed a kill and a gib.
Especially since the last patch fragger’s nades have a much lower chance of instagibbing people, that is a pretty big deal.
Your argument also depends on whether you play 5v5 or 8v8 pubs where the cooldown is much more noticable.
As a fragger myself I disgree, without stoker i feel the bojective will easyly go dowwn, molotvs deny an area for 10 seconds fragger cna onyl clean a crowd with a well palced grnade,
and another thing about kills been the most improtan. get gud and PTFO!!!
Molotov’s don’t automatically deny an area for 10 seconds. They have the potential to deny an area for 10 seconds. Just that no one actually bothers using explosives or smoke to get rid of the fire in pubs.

I play Dirty bomb to get away from the K/D pressures of cod. I get what people are saying. And it’s hard to compare any two mercs in this game. But I’d argue that that Fragger can do many of Stoker’s speciality area denial role just as well. I guess it’s down to personal taste and a slightly different play style.

Stoker is there for covering flanks and giving ammo. Yea he’s got some ass rifles, but that’s about it.
Fragger is for killing, and nothing else. He has ZERO utility, and any more than one Fragger and you might be starting to handicap your team.

Even if you prefer Fragger’s grenade over Molotovs, Stoker has something Fragger does not. Ammo station. When Fragger runs out of bullets he has to run half way across the objective for ammo. When Stoker runs out of ammo he presses the E key.
Exactly, Fragger is not that storng by himself, if he is backed by meds and FS he is unstoppable
Every time a Stoker tosses a molotov on a c4 plant I take him out, toss two sticky grenades to clear a path and defuse.
This is more an issue about Fragger being a little bit too strong, rather than Stoker (or any Fire Support) being underpowered. If you compare anyone to Fragger, they’re going to look underpowered.
