FPS......

To be fair…Intel and Nvidia have done some pretty sketchy crap lately.

I’m with ya on using their stuff but I do so with caution.

AMD is definetely not as good but they can’t do much about it, their market is the budget group of PC builders and Consoles. Intel’s market is way bigger as a result, and can afford to make minor improvements every year and there are poor saps who will build a new PC just because they want the newest stuff EVERY YEAR.
Yup, exactly. Nobody is a saint as far as I am concerned. But I do pay attention to issues to ensure that when I buy hardware I will have a much smaller chance at having issues. Nvidia/Intel simply have bigger companies with more money to throw at getting hardware/software out the door. Also, most games are developed and tested entirely on Intel/Nvidia due to them being the norm for industry standards. So many games get more exposure from the ground up where AMD usually only gets tested later on.

AMD isn’t bad at all. They just don’t have the resources to pull off what Nvidia/Intel do. There are also issues that are less of a concern to most people as well like proper gaming linux support and even the ability to update the firmware of devices being hard (many small devices require an intel usb chipset). But those are much less of a concern that the other stuff but those are extra issues that severely affect me and my purchasing decisions.
Also, I notice a lot of people who do have fps issues have an AMD processor if it’s a desktop. Coincidence? I think not good sir. monocle top hat monocle

uhmm. mayby we should not discuss about intel/Nvidia/AMD, there are dozes of topics about that across the internet
honestly the 610m isnt designed for gaming, it’s more for multimedia video streaming / light gaming (e.g. flash games in browser).

if you wish to get more fps you’d honestly have to buy a new laptop, or use extremely low graphics or an fps config.

a laptop i3 and 610m just isnt enough for today’s gaming standards, sorry

Although you may have thermal throttling on your cpu or gpu, even without those issues the specs you posted will probably not be able to get over 30 even on the lowest settings
30 is OK, its always better than 15!! :o

AMD exists to keep Intel/Nvidia prices down as far as I’m concerned.

(watsyurdeal) #25

True, nobody likes monopolies.

(Myself_Deal_with_it) #26

jeah true, it would be horrible that intal/nvidia stuff would be yet more expensive :stuck_out_tongue:

(neverplayseriou) #27

Amd graphics cards are on the same lvl as nvidia…

(watsyurdeal) #28

Depends on the price, game, drivers at the time, and the software.

Hardware wise though you are right.

Turn off Aero in windows for a free 30-40fps

(Myself_Deal_with_it) #30

AFAIK, Dirty Bomb uses the Unreal Engine and it’s heavily CPU based. I’m getting about 45 frames per second and I’m using a Phenom II X6 1035T.

(Ghosthree3) #34

Vista and 7 both have aero.

(Myself_Deal_with_it) #35

mmm… i’m running on W8

Ouch, not only a low-end processor meant for web browsing more than gaming but the laptop variant of one. And the 610m is nowhere near as powerful or even in the same generation of hardware as it’s name implies. It’s one of the great scams of the laptop world sadly.

i already said in one of my posts

Crysis 3 all max 1080p 60+ fps
Dirty Bomb 1080p high medium etc… no matter settings 30-40-60-45 fps

Apples and oranges. Not every game/engine is the same. I could run Metal Gear Rising at 1080p at 60fps with my laptop which is a graphically superior game to World of Warcraft. But I can barely run World of Warcraft with acceptable frame rates or even Diablo 3. In fact, D3 was almost unplayable. It all depends on what the game/engine is relying on and some people have a system that can easily handle the requirements while others do not.

(1AGRESSOR) #40

what are the requirements for this game?

and off topic @Amerika does technical support work i send a ticket few days ago?
