To be fair…Intel and Nvidia have done some pretty sketchy crap lately.
I’m with ya on using their stuff but I do so with caution.
AMD is definetely not as good but they can’t do much about it, their market is the budget group of PC builders and Consoles. Intel’s market is way bigger as a result, and can afford to make minor improvements every year and there are poor saps who will build a new PC just because they want the newest stuff EVERY YEAR.[/quote]
Yup, exactly. Nobody is a saint as far as I am concerned. But I do pay attention to issues to ensure that when I buy hardware I will have a much smaller chance at having issues. Nvidia/Intel simply have bigger companies with more money to throw at getting hardware/software out the door. Also, most games are developed and tested entirely on Intel/Nvidia due to them being the norm for industry standards. So many games get more exposure from the ground up where AMD usually only gets tested later on.
AMD isn’t bad at all. They just don’t have the resources to pull off what Nvidia/Intel do. There are also issues that are less of a concern to most people as well like proper gaming linux support and even the ability to update the firmware of devices being hard (many small devices require an intel usb chipset). But those are much less of a concern that the other stuff but those are extra issues that severely affect me and my purchasing decisions.
